I think the first verse deals with Genesis. 4?. About Noah. The breath before the dive is preparing yourself as Noah did. The truth after the lie doesn't matter, because the lie is what we'll all remember, so you can't save yourself after the fact, like the evil people of the world. God is saying the flood is inevitable.
If you want God in your life, just call out to Him.
You want to get away from everything evil, then you need to call on Jesus. The blood is the only break.
Everyone who doesn't listen to the Call or cry out seeking God can't breathe. They won't live (spiritually speaking).
It's not too late to repent and lean not on your own understanding, but trust in Him.

I am very confused with this song. Yeah, it's a pretty cool sounding song and all and it is one of their most popular, but I can barely understand it. The only meaning I can get out of it is that during your life you are being searched (Searchlights. Duh) and that you have the choice to get out of the sense of being monitored by the world by submitting to God (chorus). Um. Yeah that is all I got out of it. I hope other people can like post their meanings so I could see what it meant to them.

Oh, I think I get it now. I think the song is about repentance, or the initial contact with God. The first verse starts by describing the emotions associated with first trusting in God.
"Its like the Breath before the Dive" = Leap of Faith.
"Its like the Truth After a Lie" = Confirmation of the Biblical Reality.
"This flight is taking over" = growing in your faith.
"Search Lights in every corner" - I'm not so sure about this one, either means there are many people searching for real truth or the new Christian is looking to share the Gosple, I think.
The others are a bit fuzzy to me, except the flooding of the city, which I believe is a reference to the Final Judgement.
As for the Chorus, "If you want to breath, you just let me know" that is, survive the flood, or the Judgement, ask for His forgiveness.
That's all I got. Falling Up is ridiculous sometimes. Theyre one of my favorite bands, but sometimes I get frustrated not understanding their lyrics- not that its necessarily a bad thing.

This song could multiple meanings, like a lot of Falling Up's songs. I think it's a song meant to be interpreted by the listener as they wish. To me, it's talking about a lot of things. The sense of being watched, the sense of having no freedom, then the sense of gaining fredom through God. That's teh most pominent meaning to me. Every line has a different meanng in my mind.
Again, I think tis meant to be interpreted by teh listener.
