Demon Hunter – God Forsaken lyrics
So my dissent was a shallow defense I made to lay waste to the powers of
Fate
And all the blame I carry around my neck, a dead cycle of pain that I
Chase to find my way

When the sovereign comes to me
I eclipse in the shadow's veil
Killing all I seek to be

For the passing vain inhale
A fall to the fires of Hell never failed to awaken
Though my soul ascends, in the darkness of my heart again... I'm God
Forsaken

With every turn I fail to learn my path and it's wearing down my days
To be the voice of a half-dead, suffering age
A never-ending seek that I chase to find my way

When the sovereign comes to me
I eclipse in the shadow's veil
Killing all I seek to be
For the passing vain inhale
A fall to the fires of Hell never failed to awaken
Though my soul ascends, in the darkness of my heart again... I'm God
Forsaken

Now the grave is all I see
A fall to the fires of Hell never failed to awaken
Though my soul ascends, in the darkness of my heart again...
I'm God forsaken

"when the sovereign comes to me.
I eclipse in the shadow's veil.
Killing all I seek to be.
For the passing vain inhale", what this means to me is: (for a hopefully low amount of people) when god has presented himself to someone, they will "eclipse" or hide in "the shadows" a.k. A. The devil's veil, being deceived into a feeling of security (they may already be christian, but have fallen into heavy sin). Furthermore, because they are consumed by that smokescreen, they would rather take a "vein" or hopeless breath of (possibly eternal) death than realize their true potential to become a strong, fulfilled christian. I say "possibly eternal" because, even though things may look hopeless there is always time (when your alive that is) to accept christ into your life. Ye, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for though art with me! Thank you jesus.

"a fall to the fires of hell never failed to awaken", what this means to me is: without literally falling to hell(but is entirely possible if we don't prepare ourselves), when we sin as christians we can and should have that feeling, in order to "awaken" our strength to resist the temptations of sin. I have put on the whole armor of god, just as you should my friend. We all have the potential to become a "demon hunter".

This is just a personal belief but when he talks about the sovereign comes to me and I hide behind shadiws veil and the whole part I think he is reflecting to when god shows his face we hide in the shadows and are vein to thing we are better than we are and hide ourselves in our sin. And in our heart we forsake god. Speaking from solely experience when I knew I wasnt in the right mind frame I turned my head away so I didn't have to see my own iniquity. And like in the chorus even though I felt myself falling I hid my soul behind my heart so I could justify myself. I think this while song is a reflection of ones self when we reach the bottom and refuse to seek god even though he has come to help because we think in ourselves that it aint so bad and we convince ourselves we don't need his help. Which goes back to the vein inhale. Breathing in out own vanity.

"in the darkness of my heart again... I'm god forsaken", what this means to me is: when this person(who seems to be a christian) falls into the sin they have let enter their heart, they feel godforsaken because it might happen very often and they feel god isn't doing anything about it. All have fallen short of the glory of god. Blame doesn't reside on the shoulders of god. Because before blaming god for the problems of the world, we must ask ourselves one simple question: why would god let the very people who would be offered eternal life, murder his only begotten son? Demon hunter definitely provokes your intelligence. Right on!
