I think this song is clearly about a non-believer. Likely one the vocalist (or at least viewpoint of the song) is trying to help find Jesus but so far it's not working and the writer is getting frustrated. This is hit over and over in the Chorus.
Collapsing in on yourself - since he has that void in him that needs to be filled with Christ and forgiveness, he collapses inward.
"I don't know why I try - the nonbeliever just isn't listening even though it's so clear to the author, so the author is wondering in frustration why he is still trying to save this person who doesn't want to save themselves.
"I don't know why you deny" - Person keeps denying God/Jesus.

[Verse 1] - I see the fear of hollow death, and fear of nothing left: What death must look like to a nonbeliever. The writer understands that fear, and wants to use that connection to help this person.

I mourn your blindness - pities the man for not seeing/knowing God and having a relationship there.

Pain inside that he knows too - we all have our doubts and fears. Christians are not except from this. We know where the atheist is coming from, but can help because of that and are just like them. Nothing but sinners.

This is someone who is blinded by the world that surrounds them, without even realizing; (this could be in many forms. Love, drugs, abuse, etc.)
being too blind to see the damage being done, and the hurt it is causing (weather to them-self or the people that surrounds them); this is someone who only knows how to move/live in the misery that is the now/pain. Eventually it all adds up. And
collapses in on one.

Collapsing, is a song for those people who were blinded (not physically). I like the part "i mourn your blindness I die along and swallow darkness
in misery is where I belong"
lots of people not only the unbelievers/anti-christ are suffering from blindness, even the people who are proclaiming that they are in christ or they are with god but actually they didn't what's the truth. The song is amazing also it's music.
