Bonnie Pink – Ring A Bell lyrics
Reaching out for no man's land
To take a breath and take a chance

I'd walk a thousand nights to change the world
Where to go? When to start?
Who to trust? What to say
?
Found them all, just need someone to share

It's now in the dusk every day to carry on
Ain't so strong, I ain't so strong to go
Living in the past is not the way to live
I wish you could hear me say that I miss you

Why were we there back to back?
Why were we there face to face?
I must be the light when you're in the dark
If you lose me somewhere, and your tears are in the air
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

Looking up into the sky, looking for the reason
Why I'm here, and why you can't be here
Who's to hate? Who's to blame?
Who's to hurt? Who's to love?
Who just asked 'Why we can't we be the same? '

Try to believe walking down the lonesome road
Ain't so far, I ain't so far from you
Staying the way you are means solitude
I wish you were here and shook off my fear

Why were we there back to back?
Why were we there face to face?
I must be the light when you're in the dark
If I lose you somewhere, and I'm still hanging in there
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

What has been in the mix too long?
There's the peace when you're at war
Heads or tails, You and I
Light and dark, Ups and downs
What has been in the mere goal? What's there to divide us?
If you're hurt, cry and say 'can't you see in you my other half? '

Why were we there back to back?
Why were we there face to face?
I must be the light when you're in the dark
If you lose me somewhere, and your tears are in the air
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

In my opinion, I think it somewhat reflects the storyline between yuri and flynn from tales of vesperia, the game it served as the opening song for. Sometimes, we want to make a difference in the world while still doing what's right for those around us, but oftentimes that can isolate us from others. At that point is where one needs a friend most, and while opinions can differ and conflicts may arise, two people can still remain friends throughout whatever problems may arise.

I feel like Ring a Bell shows the relationship between Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo, the former being the main character and the latter being Yuri's friendly rival and best friend. When Flynn moved into the Lower Quarter of the capital Zaphias Yuri was able to become Flynn's friend, thus growing up together. As they drew up they always had competitions, which always had Yuri on the floor and leaving Flynn with victory. Despite their arguments through out the game and movie they are still best of friends. In Tales of Vesperia: First Strike it tells when Yuri and Flynn first joined the knights and the events that happened before the game. They were both assigned to the same captain, Niren Fedrock; and since they were new to the knights they were helped by two other knights, Hisca and Chastel Aiheap who have been in longer than they have. Yuri likes to solve smaller problems rather than bigger ones, but cares for others when they are in need. Flynn, on the other hand, likes to deal with bigger problems rather than the small ones. At the end of the movie Yuri quits the knights, wanting to do his own things; whereas Flynn stayed with the knights with the desire of wanting to change the empires cruel ways from the inside out. Skipping ahead to the events of Tales of Vesperia, a blastia thief stole the Lower Quarter's Aque Blastia; thus having Yuri taking off after the thief. Later into the game, you meet up with Flynn who was not happy with the wanted posters that have Yuri's posters on them. If you played the game, (especially the PS3 version because Flynn can join the party), it really digs into what relationship Yuri and Flynn have together and the song Ring a Bell somehow reflects that through it's lyrics that explain so many things that you don't see in the game and the movie.
