alexthomasdavis – Little Axe lyrics

Every time you come around
You know you will be safe and sound with me
Forget your friends for just one night
You know I wont put up a fight with you
Cos I
Can't be sold or bought
Yet you
Always cut me short
Every game you play is blue
Every single thing you seem to do
Every time it's just the same
The only thing I plays the waiting game
So why
Do you stay with me
Inside
I just want you to see
That every little axe you take
And chip away at me is a mistake

Now I think your blade is blunt
I feel another weather front is due
Cos I
Need another girl
And you
Can deal another world
Now I feel it must be said
That decisions put to bed my friend
All it took was just this song
To separate the right from wrongs the end

This song is a bit of a follow on from too much sun. It wasn't written with Bob Marleys Small Axe in mind. But after I'd finished saw the similarities.. although the sentiment is slightly different. Its about being chipped away at constantly and how this can end a relationship.. who wants that world??
