"A beautiful lie" is explaning the cover up and the truth of life. In full understanding we are all liers, to others, our best friends, worst enemies and in the end ourselves. We all beleive this lie. We are all victims no matter what we say or do. Its just a matter of time before we break in the full wrath of this lie. And the world will turn on itself.

A beautiful lie to me I think is about the earth and the lies that people think the world is perfect and well its not wars global warming and stuff like that is destryoing the earth! And what I think we need 2 do is stop pollution going into the earth and give peace a chance!
Cuz if anyone notices the ice bergs are melting fast and most of it now is water and if you look at the very end of the video it says some ice bergs melted after the video so what I think is that their sending a messege to everyone that we need 2 be nice 2 earth and not treat it like crap!
So give peace and love A chance and I am waiting on the world 2 change and peace and love and respect 2 everyone!

I think this song is about people waiting and waiting to change and be themeselves when all they have to do is look within themselves for that and stop blaming everything that has happend to you in the past because you shouldnt let the people or things effect your future. And too me its all about how people in common or liers but how lies are sometimes better than the truth and sure are easier to believe in. And yes life is A game. Everybody is mere pawns. Everyday before today is A memory. One day at A time is all you can do. Believe in yourself first of all and everything else will fall in place(I love you jared for giving hope to so many people).

I think this song is about the world as a whole.
People take the world for granted and just think, 'Oh, I made this little bit of mess, I'm sure a little bit of garbage won't hurt it. ' But the truth is, it does. And no one realizes it.
See the thing is, people start wars with little things. And this really damages the world and the world's natural beauty.
Also, it shows a lot in the video too. They are in Greenland, and they are stood on these mountains, in a space on their own. And in little clips of the video, it shows the mountains falling apart. And I know that this is cause by global warming.
This song is about caring for things and how when you look around, the world is beautiful, but in reality, it isn't, because people are destroying it.

This song is the knife in my soul that I keep there. Cause as I listen again since hearing it a while back, I can’t help but feel as if 30STM must be writing their songs about me. By being in motion for the last 20 years I have been able to stuff down so many hurts of my past. So many that now in my earliest days of having too much time on my hands I am rethinking my life and the beautiful lies I have believed. Lies others told me. Lies that I told myself. Lies I believed... only really pretending to believe so I could just dissociate from the pain. To acknowledge truth would require action that either I was too much of a coward to take. Or maybe I just didn’t know how to process the emotion attached to the truth. Denial allows us the easy way out of actually dealing with stuff. I can pretend/lie myself and everyone around into the beautiful life instead of all that other pain stuff.
I’m done with “beautiful” lies though. I am becoming true to my intentions and my values more each day that I choose to see reality.

The sad, but true meaning of this song has got to be about some guy's life. Other people call him names and laughs at him. The guy then gets upset. The people are basically putting pressure on the guy. As if they're saying, "Come on, be like us, loser!" And the guy tries to be different, and tries to join them. I guess this is correct. And I guess he actually makes it into the group(or just not being a loner anymore). But in the song, it says "Lie makes me...lie" that possibly means that he's now lying to his friends and stuff. And he's getting confused. So. He lied from a lie.
