Honestly, I don't think it literally means that the lovers are going to commit suicide together. . He is saying that he would do anything for her. . Even if it's crazy or risky, they'll stay together. And he is willing to do whatever it takes so that they can be together. By the lyrics, there's obviously some kind of struggle in their relationship, sounds most like they can't be together the way things are, so he'll leave absolutely everything to be with her. . Not die, literally, but do anything, give it all up. . That's what true love is like. . You would do anything for the one you love. But I agree, that is you truly love someone, you wouldn't die for them, you'd save them, or die with them. To leave your love behind, that is just too cruel an existence.
