Warren Barfield – Love Is Not A Fight lyrics
Love is not a place
To come and go as we please

It's a house we enter in
Then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word
That they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

Love is a fight when it refers to a marriage. But the real fight is against yourself and your own wants and desires. Your desire to hold on to self instead becoming one with your spouse has God intended, is what you have to fight. You are not losing yourself but gaining the best of both if you do this with God as your guide.

I've been to an event where he was one of the guests. This song was never meant to be released. It was a song he wrote for his wife when they were struggling in their marriage. A friend of his heard it and thought is spoke so strongly to him that it opened the door for it to be released. He talks about the reason he wrote it and it's true meaning during his show. It's about fighting for your marriage and not giving up. Stop fighting against each other and fight for love. You shouldn't be fighting with each other. Instead, put the effort into fighting for your marriage. God loved us so much, he sent his son to die for us. Why then can't we love each other so much we are willing to fight to the end to save our marriage.

I just heard this song for the first time ever and it is so true we are so quick to walk away for any little arguement and its a scary person to feel not secure with your marriage when the other person keeps threatening to leave in the middle of an arguement/ disagreement. May god take those words for all couples that use the "d" (divorce) words or leave so easily.

Love is not a fight between two people but it is a to keep to people together. Love is seeing over someone's imperfections and realizing that no one is perfect. We fight to keep love together and bring back the feelings that were once there and what brought two people together in the first place. There should never be a happy ending because true love never has an ending. Everyday should be a beginning and that is what is worth fighting for.

I am so sensitive girl and when for the first time I heard this song at the end of the movie, I could not hold myself to cry, not because I felt sad but because I felt the words of the song deeper in my inner and in my soul, that is so great! Saying these things and above all doing them is a way to make me fulfilled in love. Of course love is the most beautiful thing we have in life. Thank you so much Warren!

This song tells me. If you love someone, don't fight your feelings for them. Coz the spirit will wake you up, and help you move fwd in it. Then you will be happy and know how sweet love can be. Especially when God is the one that brought you two together. You can't go wrong when he is head of it. I am in love with a wonderful man, and I thank God for him. We both been through alot, and worked through alot too. I pray al of you happiness and love, and for my relationship with him to blossom.

Love is a gift that we all should cherish. It's not a burden that we have to carry and it's not just limited to family. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's not just something to fall in and out of. It is rare and it is precious. Love is truly a blessing. It's not to be taken lightly. It's not just a word or a feeling, it's an action.

It's about how marriage is supposed to be, how god wants marriage to be. The part that says to some love is just a word, that's because most people will just give up on the marriage if they don't "feel" love anymore instead of working through the difficult times. True love is something you do for someone (a spouse) even when you don't want to do it. That's why marriages these days fail in america because too many people are about the emotions of "feeling in love" instead of the act of real love.

This meaning seems obvious to me. It's a call to love. Real love. "love is patient, love is kind, love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride. Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil. It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true. Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things. "
1 corinthians 13: 4-7 (right from the guidebook).

I am called katching, only 18 but I think I know what love is more than some persons in the world. In the book or first john chapter 4, we find that god is love, and in galatians 5; 22, we see love as the fruit of the holy spirit. This means love is not a word, but a person whose name is jesus christ. The bible tells us that our real live is christ, implying walking with him and in him is in love. For love the savior prayed, abba father have your, though they know not what they do, let the cross draw man to you.
