Screen falling off the door; door hanging off the hinges
My feet are still sore; my back is on the fringes
We tore up the walls; we slept on couches
We lifted this house, we lifted this house

Fire-crackers in the east; my car parked south
Your hands on my cheeks; your shoulder in my mouth
I was up against the wall on the west mezzanine
We rattle this town, we rattle this scene

Oh, Anna Sun!
Oh, Anna Sun!

What do you know? This house is falling apart
What can I say? This house is falling apart
We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town

This house is falling apart!

Screen falling off the door; door hanging off the hinges
My feet are still sore; my back is on the fringes
We were up against the wall on the west mezzanine
We rattle this town, we rattle this scene

Oh, Anna Sun!
Oh, Anna Sun!

What do you know? This house is falling apart
What can I say? This house is falling apart
We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town (2x)

This house is falling apart! (2x)

Live my life without
Station wagon rides
Fumbling around the back
Not one seatbelt on
Wait for summertime
Coming up for air
Now it's all a wash
Now it's all a wash

Live my life without
Coming up for air
Now it's all a wash
I want everyone
Racing down the hill
I am faster than you
Wait for summertime
Wait for summertime

Oh, Anna Sun!
Oh, Anna Sun!
Sun!

What do you know? This house is falling apart
What can I say? This house is falling apart
We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town (2x)

This house is falling apart (3x)
We're gonna rattle this ghost town
This house is falling apart (2x)

It has many meanings but what it means to me is back when i was 14 always running around with my best friend, we had this house we would go to, it was condemned and just an awful house but to us it was our place every summer thats where we would go to "hang" its burnt to the ground now but i know i'll never forget that old house and every time i here anna sun i think back to that time

It is the way we all start out: poor, renovating a ramshackle house, but there is a lot of love and we can work like crazy and love each other passionately through it all. Memories of childhood come flooding back. Good times, freedom, summer fun. It is a celebration of the part of life where we work hard, learn to love, and grow together.

A guy who loves a girl named anna who is the center of the everything to him (the sun). He sings about how they're in love with no money but then sees how awful the situation is (this house is falling apart) so they decide to have an all-out amazing summer before they part ways

I personally think of the carefree times of childhood and summertime and remembering back to it fondly. Screen door falling off the hinges from barefoot kids running in and out. Tearing up walls and sleeping on the couch. Station wagon rides with no seatbelts... Waiting for summertime. The house is falling apart, but that's ok because we have each other!

It's about the way certain summer moments can take you back in time to happy teenage memories or even times before those yrs. Simpler, happier, times- times we all felt more free and capable... I guess as a divorced woman in my thirties with two boys of my own it reminds me to go back to that- to stop living my life w/o, as the author puts it.
