We've got the fire, who's got the matches
Take a look around at the sea of masks
And come one come all, welcome to the grand ball
Where the strong run for cover and the weak stand tall
I'm not one to scatter ashes
But there's some things that melt the plastic
Try and dig down deeper if you can
I'm not afraid
I'm not ashamed
I'm not to blame
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not ashamed
I'm not afraid
I'm not okay
Welcome to the masquerade
Welcome to the masquerade [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/thousand_foot_krutch/welcome_to_the_masquerade.html ]
We've got the power, who's got the action
Break it down till there's nothing but a mere fraction
Out of the fire, rise from the ashes
Reject your doubt and release the passion
Let's get on it, believe if you want it
Step into the realm where the real ones flaunt it
Come back, rewind, another time on it
Reach out, take that, but now step on it
I'm not one to scare the masses
But there's some things that melt the plastic
Try and dig down deeper if you can
I'm not afraid
I'm not ashamed
I'm not to blame
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not ashamed
I'm not afraid
I'm not okay
Welcome to the masquerade
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not afraid
I'm not ashamed
I'm not to blame
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not ashamed
I'm not afraid
I'm not okay
Welcome to the masquerade
Welcome to the masquerade
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not one to scatter ashes
But there's some things that melt the plastic
Try and dig down deeper if you can
I'm not afraid
I'm not ashamed
I'm not to blame
Welcome to the masquerade
I'm not ashamed
I'm not afraid
I'm not okay
Welcome to the masquerade
Welcome to the masquerade

This song is showing that many times christians want to tell the world about god, but sometimes we put on our mask and say "we'll say something next time. " this song is saying that the person is not afraid to share the good news of jesus christ with each other, but when it says "i'm not okay" it means they're obviously afraid at that moment. We say we aren't afraid when we truly are sometimes. It's hard, it is so hard it seems like. But at the same time, it's the easiest thing in the world.
This song is a strong religious song about one's faith in god. It is a song about a person saying they are not afraid of publicly displaying their faith. But at the same time they are saying that they are "not okay", meaning that the don't want to be afraid, but at times they are. This is where the "masquerade" comes in. This person is a person that wants to serve god publicly and show their faith publicly but at times he or she is uncomfortable or unwilling to do so. I think this is an amazingly written and played song that deals with a struggle that many people have and go through on a daily basis.
