Theory Of A Deadman Heaven (Little By Little) lyrics
Now don't you be afraid
We can always talk about it
No need to medicate
Cuz I know you're strong without it
You got me through the days
When I thought I couldn't face it
Let me count the ways
The love we have you can't replace it
Just hold on, I'm not that strong
There's a little piece of heaven
Right here where you are
The fact that you keep trying
Is what sets you apart
Help me find the reason
And I'll help you find the way
To get rid of all your pain
Little by little, day by day
Now, you're far away
And I'm alone to cry about it
It's not a better place,
When you die and leave me here to say
Hold on, I was never that strong
There's a little piece of heaven
Right here where you are
The fact that you keep trying
Is what sets you apart
Help me find the reason
And I'll help you find the way
To get rid of all your pain
Little by little, day by day
You'll get stronger
If you need me, I'm not far away
So, just hold on
I'll help you find a way
I'll help you find the way
There's a little piece of heaven
Right here where you are
The fact that you keep trying
Is what sets you apart
Help me find the reason
And I'll help you find the way
To get rid of all your pain
Little by little, day by day
maybe its more like she is suicidal... She is affraid of what she feels and thinks and doesnt want to talk about it and she is thinking that it would be better to just give up. And he is saying that there is nothing to be afraid of and they should talk about things and that she helped him through hard times and he wants to help her. She seems so far away because she isnt sharing with him any more... and he is telling her that it isn't a better place and that there is happiness here if she would just open up to him and he is there to help her and that she needs to stay away from whatever drugs or alocohol or whatever she is using to "medicate" because it doesnt help her depression... and if she does go she would be leaving him behind with out her love he cant replace...
actually she's depressed, but doesnt want to use drugs. They just make her numb to it, she needs to go through it. She's strong enough to make it through. He'll help little by little.
My take on it is that his girl is on her deathbed after a long illness….he says you don’t need to medicate, you’re strong without it…and basically they both know she’s going to die and she’s the stronger of the two because he’s trying to comfort her telling her not to be afraid, but really she’s the one that’s been helping him through it all…he’s asking her to hold on because he knows he’s not as strong without here there…then she dies and leaves him alone…he says “it’s not a better place” referencing how people always say “they’re in a better place now” after someone dies…
