Taylor Swift – Safe And Sound lyrics
I remember tears streamin' down your face
When I said I'd never let you go,
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said 'don't leave me here alone'
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close
your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare
look out your window
Darlin' everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone
Gone--

Just close your eyes
The
sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh
, oh,
Ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Just close your eyes
You'll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Oohhh.

This song isn't just about The Hunger Games and Disrict 12. It's about The Civil War. It gives listeners a very emotional experience. Thought fans can relate to The Hunger Games, not many people can relate to the danger and melancholy of The Civil War. It shows that someone will always be there to protect you and fight for you. Everyone has someone to love them. Wars are terrible. In the beginning, she is saying goodbye to someone, probably her father. She says she'll never let him go, and tears are streaming down his face. This song really does mean a lot. Especially the part where it says, "Don't you dare look out your window, darling everything's on fire." This is very symbolic in terms of with the song. This was a real experience for people in the past. Everything was on fire. This song shows the world can be a dangerous place, but just don't worry. You'll be alright because if you sleep tonight you'll still be here in the morning. Can you even imagine being in their position with what they had to go through? Can you imagine being in the middle of a war?! Don't worry, come sunrise we'll be okay.

So powerful. It really shows the concept of true peace. That even though everything is "on fire", as long as you know that I'm here and I'll protect you, you're going to be safe. This also really demonstrates a mother's love for her child. I always cry when I think of it. You could also interpret it to have a biblical meaning as well. Just put your faith in God and as long as you believe and obey his word, he'll protect you.

This song is about the hunger games and katniss's fear of what will happen to her and her sister, primrose. Katniss is trying to comfort prim while holding her in her arms. She's telling prim not to worry about her going into the hunger games and if anything bad does happen, katniss is telling prim to never forget her. At least that's my meaning for this song and that's what I see.

Rue, reminds me of rue. It is an amazing tribtue to the girl> this song is just like that moment. It was sad, yet magical your safe no matter what, even if your world is crashing, with me you are safe. No mater what. Just close your eyes, you and ill be safe and sound, no matter what the world does< the world sucks, alot but this songs says don't you worry your safe and sound.

To me, this is a song about war. It's not about glory, or the horrors of being caught in the middle of it. It's not even a protest song. It is a song for someone who isn't even involved, a song for the bystanders who, whether they like it or not, are caught up. To me, "safe and sound" is more wishful thinking. The singer knows that there is no way she is going to escape what's going on outside unscathed. In the context of the hunger games, I would read this as being from katniss to prim (and by extension: from katniss to rue). If you've just seen the end of the movie, you know how futile her reassurances are. If you've read all the way to the end of mockingjay.

Safe and sound is clearly a song from the hunger games if you haven't read those books you need to, I wont give at any spoilers but when katniss everdeen is walking through the book of the hunger games there is just war and rebelling against president snow. So. Mostly it is saying we will be safe as long as we don't get envolved and stay together and don't think about it :) thank you.

I believe safe and sound, like hunger games, is in part of protecting someone you love. Katness goes as tributary to protect her younger sister from experiencing the dangers and evils of life. Taylor swift says "just close your eyes.. No one can hurt you now.. Don't you dare look out your window.. Everything's on fire, the war outside our door keeps raging on.. " the world and competition experiences fire and evilness that she wants to avoid for her little sister and friend.

This song means a lot more to me than I had originally expected. It holds special place in my heart because earlier this year my aunt was killed. I'm a singer and if I had the chance I would sing this to her. I would practice really hard and sing my heart out because she was a beautiful person and she didn't deserve her fate. The same goes for little rue, a tribute, in the hunger games.

This song is beautiful. It reminds me of trusting yourself whilst everything is aflame and nothing is right. I believe that the song holds beauty and meaning in a different way to everyone who listens to it. This song has a deep connection to our inner souls because it tells us to calm down and find ourselves in times of chaos. Again, this is a beautiful song and I love you Tay!

Listen to this song and read this:.
Harry picked up the last suitcase from the front hall and rolled it out the door. -yes mum! We haven't forgotten anything… I swear! Okay. I love you too. " I spoke through the phone. Harry turned, blowing a kiss to me. I smiled. -harry loves you too. I'll call you when we get there okay? " I hung up the phone, grabbing the car keys. -are we all packed up? " harry asked, looking in the trunk. -yes, now can we please go? " I laughed impatiently. He kissed me quickly, taking the keys from my hand. -alright, get in the car. " I tried not to run to the other side of the car, climbing inside quickly. Harry and I had been together for nearly two years. He had just got back from his world tour and he had promised we'd go to our cottage when he returned. -you have no idea how excited I am. " I said, buckling my seatbelt. Finally it would be just harry and I. No fans, just us. He intertwined his fingers with mine, pulling out of the drive. -i think I'm more excited than you! " he joked, stroking my hand with his thumb. We laughed and talked for hours, only pulling over for gas. The sun was starting to set and we made our way around the bend of the countryside. The trees were like giants looming over us, the sun peeking through the branches. I was beginning to doze off, leaning on harry's arm. -hey! Don't fall asleep and leave me to talk to myself for the rest of the way! " he laughed, playing with my hair. I sat up smiling, turning so my back was to the car door. -keep me awake! Sing for me. " I raised my eyebrows, biting my lip. Harry smiled, eyes on the road. -okay. Just one song because I love you. " he said, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. He hummed to get the beat. -if you ever leave me baby! Leave some morphine at my door! Cause it would take a whole lotta medication, to realize what we had we don't have it anymore! " he sang, his deep voice captivating me. I watched his curls sway when he looked at me, smiling. He turned, his face going white. I looked out the windshield as harry swerved, dodging a deer. I screamed as we slid off the road down the steep hill. Harry let go of the steering wheel, grabbing me into his arms. The car flipped, tremendous sounds of glass and metal shattering, echoed off the trees. I opened my eyes, everything white. The trees came into focus, the orange sky above me. I cried out as I moved my arm. Sitting up I looked around violently. -harry! Harry where are you?! " I screamed, standing up. Chunks of metal were scattered, smoke billowing from the car. I ran around it, tears running down my face. I saw his foot, then his torso. -harry! " I fell to the ground, putting my hands to his chest. Shards of glass were poked into his pale skin, blood soaking his clothes. -please don't cry. " harry whispered, his voice hoarse and full of pain. I sucked in ragged breaths, sobbing. -sh, be quiet, help will come soon baby. " I choked, knowing it wasn't true. The birds called out to eachother, the only noise in the forest. Harry shook his head, smiling weakly. -nobody is coming. You need to go get help. You're bleeding. " he raised his shaky arm to wipe the cut on my forehead. -no, I can't leave you. " I cried, taking his face in my hands. A tear slid down his face but he smiled. -baby you need to go. You need to get help. " I shook my head fiercely, taking his hand in mine. -I'm not leaving you, somebody will help us-"
-i have to go now. " harry whispered, squeezing my hand. His pulse was slow, sweat gleamed on his face. His breath was short and raspy but he was trying to hide it. My eyes widened, realizing what he meant. -harry please. Please don't leave me. You can't, I love you so much, you can't leave. Stay with me please! " I screamed, running my fingers through his tangled curls. Harry was white, the blood covering him looked foreign. He pulled me towards his face in agony, pressing his lips against mine. -i love you so much. " he choked, the tears streaming down his face. I nodded, taking his hand in mine. I knew he was leaving me. I cried, watching his chest rise slowly and fall. He closed his eyes, still holding my hand. -harry? " his chest didn't rise. His grip loosened in my hand. -harry? " I yelled, shaking him. I sat still. He was gone. I laid beside him, wrapping my arms around him. The birds voices faded. The color of the trees darkened. There was no sound of cars up on the road. I laid there for a long time. Hours. -i'll see you soon baby. " I whispered in harry's ear then kissing his soft lips. I stood up. My clothes were wet with blood. There were cuts all over my arms and legs. I couldn't feel them. -i'll you soon baby. " I whispered again, walking towards the edge of the cliff. The wind blew through my hair as I walked slowly towards the edge, looking up at the trees. I looked down, watching the water speed around jagged rocks. I turned looking at harry. I crossed my hands over my chest, smiling. -i'll see you soon baby. " I closed my eyes, falling towards the water.

It sounds exactly fitting for when katniss holds rue and sings her a lullaby - the first 2 verses are so spot on! Why would katniss or peeta ever say to each other "i remember tears streaming down your face when i said i'll never let you go?... Etc... Etc... You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now? " well in my opinion, that fits for rue and this song is just like when marius and eponine sing a little fall of rain.

I believe katniss could be singing it to many people in the hunger games. She could be singing the song to peeta to let him know that if something goes wrong, they will get through it. And she could be singing it to prim for bedtime to tell her that she will protect her now matter what happens so she can close her eyes and go to sleep without being worried. Also katniss could be singing it to rue, letting her know that this is the end for her and she will go to heaven peacefully and will not be forgotten. Any of those ways, the song still makes me want to cry. So when I listen to it, I think of makenzie beth marrow, a girl that was my best friend in 2nd grade who died in a car accident in 2005. I sing this song with pride. I hope you do too.

The narrator in this song is telling someone they love very much that they will always be there for them. The narrator desires to protect their loved one from all that is out there to harm them. Whether they are able to succeed in protecting them or not they want them to know that everything is going to be okay and they will be safe and sound again despite everything.

I love this song, its amazing, one of the best songs yet. Taylor swift is amazing and she sings a lullaby saying its gonna be ohk, and don't worry about what's going on outside, because your safe here. I will always be with you and I wont leave you. War is raging on is just life and just close your eyes and I will be here, its gonna be ohk, just sleep and youll be safe and sound. Taylor swift, best song ever, love this. :) keep up the good work hon!

Life brings on half a million twists and turns that tend to smack you in the face and kick you down (through anything from the divorce of your parents, to the death of a friend). Despite the tears, close your eyes and realize that everything will be okay. Eventually, once enough pain has been felt; no one else can hurt you. If you can hold onto the understanding that the world is chaos and still keep your head held high, and hold on to the hope that everything will be okay in the end. You may make it; despite the fires of hell that seem to rage outside of your personal bubble.

The first verse is katniss singing to prim on a lonely night in district 12, being parental and loving. The second is haymitch/katniss's father singing to kantiss in the arena, singing to her like she use to sing to prim, only about a more serious issue. The chorus is peeta, being the hope in every bad situation katniss faces. Whenever she is with peeta, he tells her everthing is alright.

I think it means that sumone is leaving, tries to protect the one he loves and keeps reassuring he/she that no matter what happen to him, the one he loves should always believe that everything will turn out right. Like during a war the on he loves should never risk his/her life to know what's happening to him and just believe that after the war; rain; fire, the sun will rise and soon they'll have each other, not like before but still with each other safe and sound. :)

I think it meant "we were in a forest near a town where there was war, when an area near our house was blown and then he was injured and the house was on fire then I was trying to help him and I told him tht I will never leave him alone, but then the fire was growing more and more and I had to go, but I just put his face in my hands and told him eberything is fine, you just close your eyes darling and don't look outside and I was trying to make him sleep and forget the pain and after he did,.
I kssed him and went out from the fire without letting him know, I escaped and I started running to the forest were everything was burnt. I stayed a several days at some place and when I came back to our house, I just found everything ashes. But I dun think this is taylor's real experience and I wish it is not.

Everytime I just remember the lyrics and the song I cry, even without hearing it! This is an awesome song that definetly brings out the emotions. I read the book and today I saw the movie. I found this song a perfect match for 2 scenes: rue's death, and when katniss & peeta are cuddling in the cave. The movie is amazing, the books are amazing, the song is amazing. Everything is! :)

It means to me so many un-describible feelings, thoughts and desires. When I read the books you feel a sense of hope that you feel so happy, yet alone. You want to spread this word of happiness in ones times of despair. I listen to this song and eyes open to remember the book, characters, and movie- the hunger games. When you truly think about the games, it is such a cruel thing that happens. Even though it is fictional, after reading it and then knowing the lyrics of safe & sound and connecting them to everything that happens in the arena, it just makes me want to break down and cry-listen to this song over and over, I think of peeta and katniss. Their undying love for each other and their will to survive and do anything for one another. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of the true meaning to live and love. When you know the feeling when you love someone and don't want them to let go and die. :( and the melody in this song is just perfect for the theme and plot of the whole thing that ever started. I don't know how to describe it. I just feel like crying. It makes me feel a good happy calm feeling that only music can create.

This song is so lovely. I'm going through the most difficult time of my life right now and it seems like everything in the entire world that is good is shattering and disappearing from view. Everything except for my angel of a boyfriend who's stuck by me for 3 years. The world is crashing down around me but I still have him. I'm safe in him. I'm safe with him. The world can be dissolving around us, everything can be up in flames-but we are safe in eachother and in the morning, we will still be safe and sound.
The song is about finding your inner peace, the beauty of life and comfort in a single person and them just being there for you is as good as a lullaby and together you can get through anything. Don't look out your window-the worlds on fire, and there's no reason to look out there because your safe with me no matter what.
That's what it means to me.

I first thought it was for rue, meaning it's ok to let go, to die. That she'll be safe and sound. But then I got thinking, that's when I figured it was for peeta. For when they are in the cave and he is hurt. Saying it's ok. You're safe and sound with me. But it could also be for prim. For the night before the reaping. This is what I think;)

Taylor found out about the hunger games by word of mouth and was absolutely enamored with the series when she read it. She was honored to write a song for the soundtrack with the civil wars.
Originally, one would have thought that the songs would be about war and fighting, but after taylor read the series, she says that she realized a song for the soundtrack would have to be a "death lullaby". Clearly, it shows that these "perfect" societies still have sadness and people find comfort in each other.

This song made me cry the first time I heard it. I was touched since I have a little brother who I would die for and want him to be safe *sniff sniff, wipes eyes* this song shows that you have some one in your life that you want to be safe and I want everyone to realize that they need to be happy where they are because some kids in other countrys are suffering and not safe because of war.

The meaning is very obvious but it really is totally related to the book by suzanne collins.
    [[[spoiler alert]]]
The first verse is mainly about how katniss stood up and volunteered when prim was chosen as a tribute/.
The second verse is about the fire that started during the games. Being televised she knew that prim might be watching, live or not. She is worried about her and is still thinking about her throughout the whole game.
The chorus speak about just how much her little sister means to her and the oohs are oohs. :)

I think this song means that when your lover passes away, "it'll be alright" and no one can hurt them anymore, maybe like if they were in a war. And that the morning light is like god shining down on your lover to bring him to heaven to keep your lover "safe and sound" until you come around so that you and him/her can live together in light and happiness forever unto eternity, so that "you and i'll be safe and sound". And she's saying "i'll never let you go" to reassure him/her to know that you will always be there for them. Just remember: "just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and i'll be safe and sound. "

No matter how bad life may seem sleep takes you away in a mere instant. Innocene is a concept lost time and time again, especially in third war countries so quickly. This song seems like a moternal figure is telling a child that everything will be alright the equivalent of a "sh, sh sh" be fore bed to calm a baby down. I think in a way its hinting that death brings peace. It's a peaceful lull to death also equivalent to the mountain air that katniss sings to rue in the hunger games.

Safe and sound. Where do I begin?
This is a song that means that with everything going on, you're not alone. The person singing obviously loves whoever they're singing to, I think, like a small child they feel they need to protect from the cruelties that are slowly closing in around them. It is a seemingly useless battle [everything's on fire-the war outside our door kees raging on] but they just can't give up, just can't let go of the hope that thee two of them will be safe, together, and whole, because that's all they really want. With the war raging on, it's this small, special little piece of goodness that makes them keep fighting, when they think they'll never win, because they. Can't. Ever. Give. Up. On something as important as this; the battle for love, family, security, goodness, freedom, and life.
Even though the people are inevidably being torn apart [i remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'd never let you go] and this is like a death sentence for them, everything they loved being leaving for what they think is for good but hope isn't (katnis, assuring primrose that she will come back when neither of them believe it but must). Katniss, trying to tell prim that her, katniss, the big sister, who fights so hard to protect the innocence that is prim from the cruel, wicked, world, will make it all okay.
[just close your eyes, the sun is going down (being a metaphor for the end of temporary calmness, the eye of the tornado) you'll be alright, no one can hurt you now (of course not- the wicked twisted panam won't hurt prim, they'll kill katniss) we'll be alright]. A feverish hope perhaps, but it is all they can believe, because without that there is nothing to keep them living.
Anyways, thank you for reading the words of an eleven-year-old me. That's what safe and sound means to me and the hunger games too.

I think the time within this song takes place in an area where there is war going on around them. The lyric to support this: "everything's on fire, the war outside keeps raging on. " I wouldn't neccessarily say it is an initimate relationship between two lovers. I would say it is a relationship between a child and their parent. The child is scared and thinks that they will be left alone. The parent reassures the child that he/she will never be left alone. At one point of the song it says, " hold onto this lullaby even when the music's gone". This shows another sign it may be a child that is being comforted. The parent tells the child, "just close your eyes/ the sun is going down/you'll be alright/no one can hurt you now/come morning light/you and i'll be safe and sound"

I think that this means that your never alone even if that someone died. There safe and sound in your heart. I think its saying that when your with that special someone then that's when your truly safe and sound because you no that there always going to be wit you. I think this because katniss was always there for primrose and rue and peetah was always there for katkiss. This is what I think the meaning is of the song safe and sound! I love this song btw;*

I have two original characters of mine that fit perfectly with the song. They are half-siblings who lost their parents when they were 10 and 8 years old. So ever since then the older sister takes care of the little brother and this song is like a lullaby and she sings it to him often when they were little. I love this song. It is just absolutely beautiful. Feels like you should dedicate this to people who lost loved ones.

The meaning of safe and sound could be when katniss drugged peeta to find cure for him. He was badly hurt by his wound, so katniss made sure he was safe. In the part "you'll be all right, no one can hurt you now" I think that's when katniss found peeta badly wounded by the others. I don't want to ruin it for the others, so i'll juz stop here and just wanted to say, "i love safe and sound! " ♥.

First of all, I have not read the hunger games. This song is hauntingly beautiful, and full of emotion. I am completely addicted to it and the video. But for some reason, it makes me very, very sad. The meaning I get from it, as I watch the video, is that a mother and child are trapped in the inevitable horrors of war. The mother knows that they have no way out, and that they are soon going to die. So, she tells the child to close his eyes, so that he will fall asleep and not suffer. "no one can hurt you now... Come morning light, you and i'll be safe and sound" means that by the next morning, they will be dead, and they will be truly "safe an sound" (in heaven).

To our group of advanced song analysts, this song is obviously a symbol of a girl in the dismal pit of life which in other words is existence, for life is a vicious cycle. The first verse describes her relationship with a loved one, who then most probably, as the song suggests, dies. The 'oooh oh ohh' parts of the song symbolize firstly the girls cry for help, and then cries of joy as she finds hope and crawls out of the pit. This song is similar to an onion, it has many layers. :)

When I heard this song, while it would be beautiful for rue's death, it reminded me of peeta and katniss more than anything. It could be looked at as katniss through peeta's eyes, like when he sleeps with her to take the nightmares away, or peeta through katniss' eyes when she's protecting peeta in the hunger games themselves, specifically around the cave time. That was just what I took from it. It'd be beautiful for rue's death but they already have a song for her in the book and I think they'll use that instead. In any case. A beautiful, beautiful song.

The "war outside", is life. The song is about the death of a loved one. "the sun is going down" "no one can hurt you now"
She said, as she lay dying, "i'll never let you go"
he said, "don't leave me here alone"
could be referencing the civil war; the video uses old graves, and ghosts. It's alright to die, and it's alright to be the survivor. We all will carry on.

(this is a bit of a spoiler, just to let ya know) wow, I can't decide what this song is about. It seems to have so many meanings! If you look at it one way, it could be peeta singing to katniss when the games are gone, and they're trying to return to normal life in the last book. Like how it says, "i remember you said don't leave me here alone. " that's like when katniss says to peeta, "stay with me. " the line above that one says, "... When i said i'll never let you go... " that's like when peeta said, "always. "
My next idea is it is katniss singing to peeta in the cave. She's telling him to just rest and hang on to life. She talks about the hunger games when she says, "don't you dare look out your window darlin, everything's on fire. The war outside our door keeps ragin on. "
next, it could be katniss singing to rue. It's very similar to the song she sings as rue is dying. Lastly, it could be katniss singing to prim.

Safe and sound is obviously about the hunger games at the scene where rue is impaled in the stomach by a spear and katniss is cradeling rue's head in her lap. The lines "i remember tears streaming down your face when i said i'll never let you go" and "i remember you said don't leave me hear alone" are direct quotes from the book by suzanna collins. The movie is going to be amazing I am so excited :)

This song brings tears to my eyes. It reminded me of the day when my dad abandoned me and my mom at the house only to return from hawaii a year later with broken ribs. He then lived with his girlfriend laura in san pedro and I had to be tossed around from there back to my hometown long beach for about 6 months. My mom later found out she was a crazy lady on drugs. She burned my baby blanket and threatened to kill me and my mom. The police eventually put her in rehab and my dad moved to the gheto part of long beach. When I turned 8, my parents got the court involved and they got a real divorce. Now I'm 11 and I've been going between houses since I was 5. I've been involved in the court 3 times. Because I'm so unstable, I'm very unsure of myself and I'm very self-consence. Because of this my mom has bought me a bunch of "over coming anxiety and depression" books. My mom and boyfriend had a baby. Her name is abby and I would give up my life for year. This song is an inspiration to my life. Every night I cry my self to sleep listening to this song and wake up at 5: 30 in the morning listning to this song and watching the sun rise. A new day means a new chance.

Well I have read the hunger games and I picture katniss and peeta in the cave at the begging of the song then when the songs talks about all the shadows and all I think of when she found him just laying there and the war is all the uprising and them back home telling eachother everything will be ok that they are out of the hunger games and they are still alive!
No matter how you picture it this is still an awesome song!

At first I thought of prim and katniss sleeping in her bed and katniss singing her to sleep. Even though she never is described as doing to it sprung to mind. Then I looked deeper and thought of the dead tributes dying, of rue mainly, this reminds me of the song katniss sang to her in its own way so in that relation it could be to the ones in the hunger games. As she says its not their fault their forced into it. Its the capitol that's done it and they are the fire. Easy enough. That's my opinion. I adore this song. I could come up with loads more meanings too its such an open song and could easily be used as a lullaby .

I can picture this either while they are in the cave or while peeta and katniss are on the horn. Seems more like a song to someone dying though. Like when she says "don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight" so, doesn't that mean he's going to die tonight. And the whole "no one can hurt you now". Idk, just my interpretation. And obvi I don't mean that's the meaning behind the book. I did read all of em. I just mean the song has a different meaning.

Ahh. Remember in the hunger games when rue dies? I think this is it. This song is about when rue is dying and tells katniss to stay with her the whole time. And she does. Theyre crying and then the cannon blows and shows her face. Katniss really loved rue and even though they were competing with eachother they were like sistes. This is like any moment when a person is dying. Like when someone is dying from cancer, and you're staying with them while they die on their hospital bed. They need your comfort and your love. I think that's what its about.

Safe & sound in another's arms, a voice, a smile, a kiss on the forehead. The little moments that pass to soon. Moments that will give hope & happiness, if even for just a second in time. Your life has meaning again. You can breathe a sigh of relief, you can cry & feel vulnerable, because you know the pain won't last forever. You can relate to everything & everyone. You can feel the comfort & understanding in another's embrace, you can see the beauty & realness in another's eyes, you can find peace & truth in their voice. Even if there is a war raging within them, too. The fight isn't between us, it is something entirely of its own. Music is love. Love will end this war, but if we must fight, we can still find hope, we can listen to it, learn from it, see it in everywhere ~ everything ~ everyone and try all over again. We will never give up.

I picture hat rues gonna be dying and she gonna be like "sing to me katnis. " then katnis will start singing and the song will join in to give the guitar in the background. Then during the ohhhs or the chorus or 2nd verse, it will show katnis getting flowers and then the last ohhhs will be the hover craft taking rue. Then at the end she will do the three finger sulutt thingy. Ahhh I cry every time I here this and the sene keeps deleting in my head!

Safe and sound is about 2 people who love each other and are afraid of being seperated. It's for the hunger games movie so probabl katniss and her sister or kiatniss and peeta. Katniss is choosen to go fight and her sister doesn't want her to leave and her sister is telling her she won't ever leave her she'll alwayas be in her heart and not to believe waht anyone says and to just watch out for herself and that she'll always be there for her. If for peeta then probably about how he's not going to die and she'll heal hiim and fight for him and with him. And how she loves I'm and wont ditfh I'm to die.

To me its that you want to keep someone you love safe. So that you can hold them and keep them forever so that they wont just slip away like ice. If you love someone don't let them go for any reason. If someone is reding this I am only litle but I am wise to things like this so take my advise and don't let them slip away. Keep them safe and sound.

It's from katniss to peeta. 'tears streaming down your face when I said i'll never let you go' refers to how katniss went to get peeta's medicine. In the book, she had to drug him to get him to stay in the cave while she got it, so that explains 'just close your eyes, you'll be alright come morning light, you and i'll be safe and sound. ' I haven't heard it, but it sounds okay.

It's about wanting to protect someone so much with all the power in your hands, but not being able do it. Just when they need you the most and feel the most sane by your side. But you need to leave them, and you assure them everything will be alright, but you see as you tell them, the light from their eyes dies just a little. Though; you still stand your ground. You're positive everything will be alright.

I believe this song is about a few people.
Verse one: peeta, only because of the cave scene. He's in pain, and death is slowly overcoming him. Hence the shadows. Plus he doesn't want her to leave to go to the feast. (don't leave me here alone).
Chorus: I believe this is sung to many people. But mainly rue, prim and peeta.
Verse two: rue or prim. Rue because "dont you dare look out your window darling everythings on fire the war outside our door keeps ragin on" could be a reference to the games, katniss also sings to her. Prim because of the starvation in the districts and such and how the music was practically gone once her and katniss' father died. But prim would be sung a lullaby *spoiler* also in catching fire the hob is set in flames, new peace keepers and more horrors in distrct 12 arise, plus the uprisings in the districts.

It is a song to those who are totally desperate in friendship, finding no one to talk to, no one to trust in. To me, it is a healing song, telling me that there is always someone out there waiting to protect you, telling you not to be afraid because he/she is here for you always. It is also a promise, to people who have no faith in friendship. Listen when you cry, it is always good to feel someone at your side supporting you when you cry.

I think that this is katniss singing to prim throughout the books, because it starts off with her saying that she can remember her crying - when she took her place in the games, and then she promises to win and that she'll be safe and sound, then in the chorus she is singing throughout the games, at night, whilst hunting, she is telling prim that although she is far away, she is still there, and is safe. In the next verse, she is with prim and is describing the world at war again, she is telling prim to never let her go and although there is war, that they will be safe together, it is also applicable whilst underground in district 13, whilst sheltering from the bombs, then she repeats agin that they will together be safe and that no-one can hurt her because she will protect prim. Then, as she watches prim die, she tells her to hang on, and close her eyes, but missing out that the sun is going down and that no-one can hurt her, because they already have, but that she still will be safe, with all the others that have died, then it ends with her ooh-ing, letting prim rest in peace.

To me, this song about the suffering and sacrifice evident in the light but affecting vocals and minimalistic guitar plucking.
This raw emotion is powerful as pain creates a feint hope that the suffering will secure protection, synonymous to a mother trying to protect her child by building a comforting nest of falsity, or katniss swearing that she'll try to win.
There is a duality of protection and destruction, peace and war, soft morning light and intense fires, hope and desolation, pain and comfort.
And although the lullaby is meant to be soothing, the melody is conflicted in sadness.

Don't look back. Its on fire darling hold on tight. Don't keep the lullaby gone. Youll never leave me alone and I will never leave you alone but if I did. Sorry I'm just imperfect person. If you think about it the hunger games way (since it's written for the movie) the first verse is most likely about rue's death. Chorus is when katniss and peeta are on top of the cornucopia, waiting for the mutts to finish off cato. And the last verse, is right after rue dies, I think. "don't you dare look out your window, darling" symbolizes the fact that katniss may not want rue to wake up, and fight in the war.
In the regular, love story way, I think it's about always being there for each other, no matter what obstacle comes through both of you. :)

Safe and sound. For me, it means that there is always that "someone" who will be there for you, no matter how worse the situation is. Someone who is willing to feel what you feel and who is brave enough to face his own fears just not to leave you alone. This someone can help you figure out the path where you'll find some kind of silent sanctuary. Where both of you can be safe and sound.

I definetly think this is the song katniss sings to rue as she is dying, and it is beautiful and touching. The beginning talks about how katniss promises to protect rue, and she realizes she failed. "the sun is going down" and " just close your eyes" mean rue is dying. No one can hirt her because she'll be dead in te morning. Katniss is also promising to keep fighting. "for rue".

Knowing this song is written as a tribute for the hunger games, I feel like it is from the point of view of katniss, the main character. To me, she is singing to her little sister, prim, whom she has sworn to keep safe. Although, it could also be sung to rue a small girl, who reminded katniss of prim during the hunger games, but died just after they had made an alliance.

Please. Enough with the personal story references. The song is for the hunger games and I am almost positive that it's either for prim when katniss has to leave after volounteering her life in exchange for her young sister's. It won't be used for rue's death since it was already said they recorded the lullaby from the book. Or it will be used in the credits. I personally think that it's about the entire hunger games in general, starting with prim crying and begging katniss not to go. But how when she enters that game it no longer matters (gone and passed tonight) the chorus is for her and peeta watching the dead faces appear in the sky and with the games passing them by so quickly that perhaps in the morning they'll win the games (become safe and sound). The second verse feels like katniss talking to peeta about the hunger games and how it is still in effect, but that they don't have to be a part of the killing and telling peeta to depend on her words. This time I feel like the chorus changes to when they are watching cato being eaten by the wolves and when katniss shoots him with an arrow, and how both her and peeta will be alright just as they are about to eat the poison berries- of course they get stopped and katniss was right: they would both be safe and sound. Just my interpretation *shrugs*.

I think this song is about two people in a relationship or friendship who are struggling with a tough or dangerous situation that doesn’ t seem to have any hope in it, but then they find comfort and safety in each other and realize that everything is going to be alright and that their struggle is going to come to an end. That there is always going to be a spark of hope in everything. Go hunger games!

When I first heard this song, I totally thought it was about katniss and peeta, and maybe it is, but read it, it's also about rue. Katniss got so closed to her during the time they were in the games together, before rue died. In this song, katniss is basically talking to rue, saying it's going to be alright, come morning she'll be safe, and no one and nothing can ever hurt her again.

I can't put a meaning too, I'm a hunger games fan. This song, is meant for the soundtrack and I could describe what it means in so many ways, but I would have too use the characters and it could be used in pretty much every scene. Well, not every scene but, apart from me rambling on about thg, and if I didn't know what it was and hadn't read the books, I would say it was about something tragic that had happened but somebody's with someone they trust now and the person they trust is trying too tell them it's alright. Ie; could be used, in the scene where katniss tells prim that she's not going too be reaped or, after the death of rue {unlikely, since jen recorded a song for it}, or in the cave with peeta.
