What if the storm ends and I don't see you
As you are now ever again?
The perfect halo of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against the planet's last dance

Just for a minute the silver-forked sky
Lifts you up like a star that I will follow
But now it's found us like I have a found you
I don't wanna run, just overwhelm me

What if the storm ends? At least that's nothing
Except the memory, a distant echo I won't pin down
I've walked unsettled rattle cage after cage
Until my blood boils

I wanna see you as you are now
Every single day that I am living
Painted in flames, a peeling thunder
Be the lightning in me that strikes relentless

What if the storm ends and I don't see you
As you are now ever again?
The perfect halo of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against the planet's last dance

Just for a minute the silver-forked sky
Lifts you up like a star that I will follow
But now it's found us like I have a found you
I don't wanna run, just overwhelm me

For me this song is about two people that actually love each other and were just friends for quite some time now. Person A admites his/her love but Person B is too scared that a relationship might destroy everything that they build up and that Person A eventually loses interest in her/him("What if the storm ends an I don't see you as you are now"). Person B rejects the thought of what they could have and only sees the significant problems that they have to deal with now (Someone is depressed or sickness in general=the storm) and how much she/he is already dependent on Person A just as friends. She/He can't lose Person A which is why she/he doesn't let Person B into her/heart. She/He doesn't want the dependency grow even more. At the same time Person B wants Person A to prove her/him that she/he can trust Person A no matter what ("Be the lightning in me" "I don't wanna run just overwhelm me")

I think that it means that the dead veterans are not forgotten and that they will always be in our hearts and that they should be loved forever and thanked for what they did for us and what if the storm ends and i dont see you turn storm into fight.

When there is conflict, all we can think about is our loved ones. "will i see you again? Will you remember me? Will you still love me? "

When the conflict is over all we want to do s go back to them. These questions go over and over again in our heads. Our hope is to find the answer when we get back home. When it's not there, we're devastated. When it is, nothing else matters. We just take it in.

We seek out symbols of hope, of a future. We find them through our faith. What ever that might be. An angel of guidance, someone glorious and wonderful who watches over us, a savior or something beautiful we want to hold on to. Telling ourselves, we are not alone and that we'll get through. That's something hard to do. Especially when there's no sign of hope or salvation in the brink moment where it seems that all is about to come to end. All the time we have left is just enough to give one last look to our friends and then it's over.
