I did a lot, I know you say
I've got to get away.
"The world is not yours for the taking"
Is all you ever say.
I know I'm not the best for you,
But promise that you'll stay.
'Cause if I watch you go,
You'll see me wasting, you'll see me wasted away

'Cause today, you walked out of my life
'Cause today, your words felt like a knife
I'm not living this life.

Goodbyes are meant for lonely people standing in the rain
And no matter where I go it's always pouring all the same.
These streets are filled with memories
Both perfect and in pain
And all I wanna do is love you
But I'm the only one to blame.

'Cause today, you walked out of my life
'Cause today, your words felt like a knife
I'm not living this life.

But what do I know, if you're leaving
All you did was stop the bleeding.
But these scars will stay forever,
These scars will stay forever
And these words have no meaning
If we cannot find the feeling
That we held on to together
Try your hardest to remember

Stay with me,
Or watch me bleed,
I need you just to breathe.

'Cause today, you walked out of my life
(Stay with me, or watch me bleed)
'Cause today, your words felt like a knife
(I need you just to breathe.)
I'm not living this life.

To me this song reminds me of when i was falling for this guy over the summer and he was only here on vaca and when he left i felt like i was dying. so to me this song means like one person fell for another and when that person left and didnt feel the same way and didnt even know how you felt about them, and when they left the person died on the inside. I AM A COMPLETE SECONDHAND SERENADE FAN! IF THEY DIDNT EXIST I WOULD PROBABLY BE DEAD RIGHT NOW. THATS HOW MUCH THEIR SONGS HELPED ME IN MY TIMES OF DEPRESSION. (well not DEAD dead of course but very depressed, and sad, souless if you will)

This song is about a person so broke yet so in love but the person who you love does not love you the same. If they can't love you same then you want them to know how much you yearn for them how much pain your in loving them. IV not been in many relationships but I know what It's like to love and lose, but every heart break is worth it for when you find that one by the way this is a very emotional and awesome song.

I still remember the words he said, left me in the dark night... Cold as an ice, hurt like a knife...
