You can be amazing
You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug
You can be the outcast
Or be the backlash of somebody’s lack of love
Or you can start speaking up
Nothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words do
And they settle ‘neath your skin
Kept on the inside and no sunlight
Sometimes a shadow wins
But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

Everybody’s been there, everybody’s been stared down
By the enemy
Fallen for the fear and done some disappearing
Bow down to the mighty
Don’t run, stop holding your tongue
Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live
Maybe one of these days you can let the light in
Show me how big your brave is

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

Innocence, your history of silence
Won’t do you any good
Did you think it would
?
Let your words be anything but empty
Why don’t you tell them the truth
?

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you.

A great song that I am sure we can all apply to ourselves in one way or another. It is also a song that I (Amy Svensson) can't help but want to sing out loud with the children and families we work with. Continue to be BRAVE! Advocate! Embrace!

When I first heard this song it really spoke to me. I was having problems with bullying at my new school. I went through a phase where I was hiding my face, sitting alone all the time, and considered cutting until I met Amanda. She showed me the song and after that I started listening to it more often. I started feeling happier, I made new friends, I even got better in school. This song showed me that thing could get better, that it wouldn't always be bad. It helped me through my worst days. It showed me that there's more to life than suffering. It taught me to stand up for myself and be brave!

Stop being afraid of saying what you want to say. Don't hold back anymore. Just say what you want to say, say what you need to say. Don't sit there and take anything, if you have something to say that you've been hiding stop hiding it. Be brave, don't be afraid to speak up for yourself if it's about something that you truly believe. I want to see you be brave!
