Randy Newman – It's A Jungle Out There lyrics

It's a jungle out there
Disorder and confusion everywhere
No one seems to care
Well I do
Hey, who's in charge here?
It's a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what's in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it's amazing
People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time
If you paid attention, you'd be worried too
You better pay attention
Or this world we love so much might just kill you
I could be wrong now, but I don't think so!
'Cause there's a jungle out there.
It's a jungle out there.

This song is the reflection of my life. People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time. Really, I do. And I know what's in the water, and the air is poisoned, and this world will kill you. It's only a matter of time. Who is in charge here? Someone needs to manage this place. I have no clue who is running this planet, but they are not doing a good job.

I think the meaning is to be careful what you wish for and also to be very careful which path and where you tread in life. It displays a very handy moral that will be acknowledged by everyone who watches monk or knows the song. It really fits monk's description perfectly - I've never known anything to be more perfect!
