brikay- How did you come to the conclusion that the song writer is talking about god? Do you know that he's religious? And why would he sing about his "relationship with god" if he's saying "I have to speculate that God himself could make us into corresponding shapes like puzzle pieces from the clay"? It makes no sense. I'm sorry, but it doesn't.

I think he means he's above all his fans who listen and don't believe in our Lord, they want him to come down to their level on Earth but he is part of a new world with God. He is on a different level and knows he is better off staying there where he has no troubles. He wants the person he is referring to in the song to hear his words and his testimony of God, that He has a plan for everybody, and maybe the words will lead this person to "home" which is Heaven and guide this person to God and his level with God if he or she believes.
