One Day lyrics

Lyrics

Opshop One Day lyrics

Absence make her heart grow fonder
While I'm conquering the last frontier
Lately I've found myself wonderin' out loud
Wonderin' what I was doin' here

[Chorus]
One day you'll understand how much you have me
One day you'll realise we have it easy
I can't offer you the future - I don't know it myself
All I can offer you is me
I'm all I can offer you right now

Patience make her heart grow stronger
Reassure her she's where I want to be
Never was the grass ever greener
I'm about ready as I'll ever be
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/o/opshop/one_day.html ]
And one day you'll understand how much you have me
One day you'll realise we have it easy
If an expression of love is what you need to believe
All I can offer you is me
I'm all I can offer you right now

[Music]

I'm all I am
All I am, yeah

One day you'll understand how much you have me
One day you'll realise we have it easy
I can't offer you the future - I don't know it myself
All I can offer you is me

One day you'll understand how much you have me
One day you'll realise we have it easy
If an expression of love is what you need to believe
All I can offer you is me
I'm all I can offer you right now

[Pause]

Absence make her heart grow fonder
While I'm conquering the last frontier

"it's all about me", trying different lifestyle / job opportunities - hoping like hell that my 'life partner' will give me that opportunity to fully explore, this unknown future i am trying to create for us both. The only thing (certaintity) i can offer you is (little old) me. I hope she really has the faith in me to let me do it, with no regrets, yet, i have faith in me.

Quite possibly a song to a woman (or child) at home waiting for a man at war. One day she'll realise that life in their home country is easier than other places.

When i read these lyrics, it sounds like he 's singing to a girl. About boundaries making sure she 's wanting to be with him. The absence && patience makes her stronger. She gets used to it to accept what the guy does. It's basically open for interpretation.

I believe this song is about a mother and her teenage son who disrespects her but she knows that "one day" he'll understand her and start respecting her.
