High tide
Summer in the city
The kids are looking pretty
But isn't it a pity that the sunshine
Is followed by thunder?
With thoughts of going under
And is it any wonder

Why the sea's
Been calling out to me?
I seem to spend my whole life running
From people who could be
The death of you and me
'Cause I can feel the storm clouds sucking up my soul

High tide
Life is getting faster
And no one has the answer
I try to face the day down in a new way
The bottom of a bottle
Is every man's apostle
Let's run away together

You and me
Forever we'd be free
Free to spend our whole lives running
From people who would be
The death of you and me
'Cause I can feel the storm clouds
Sucking up my soul

Let's run away to sea
Forever we'd be free
Free to spend our whole lives running
From people who would be
The death of you and me
'Cause I can feel the storm clouds coming

I'm watching my TV,
Or is it watching me?
I see another new day dawning
It's rising over me
And my mortality
And I can feel the storm clouds
Sucking up my soul

It's about running away together from a small town or small minded people who just kill you with the way they think things should be. Its romantic, its a chance to get away, but its also a sentence to have to always be on the run from a life that just drags you down.

It's the meeting of two twin souls!!! This mean life it's very short, and sometimes people live like the will li forever, trying to find
a meaning and a sense of the life... We forget to live, we forget to love, and we are allways running, rushisng and pushing... And at the end only whe we
finally forget about our ego is when we can join our life and soul with our twin soul!!!

It's about life in general, everyone wants happiness and a peaceful life and good feeling, but there's always worries of some kind.
I think it's just about wanting to be happy with no one wanting a piece of you all the time in whatever form.
Noel is the best song writer around today ,along with paul weller in my opinion .

Personally, i don't feel this song is about noel relationship with liam. It's too romantic. I do, however, think it is rather self explanatory. He loves someone but everyone gets in the way and he just wishes things could be simple and that no one was interfering in his private life.

I think the song has to do with his brother "Liam Gallagher". It's no secret that they haven't had the best relationships. He has said many times that Liam is indirectly (and directly at times) a big problem for him. Noel has had to leave touring with "Oasis" on a few occasions and left permanently because of his brother, so i feel Liam definitely held him back from life. hence the "From people who would be
The death of you and me". Also the idea of the sunshine, summer and children represent happiness but it's cut short by the thunder which could be referring to Liam also..
