Misty Edwards – Dove's Eyes lyrics

I don't want to talk about You like You're not in the room
I want to look right at You I want to sing right to You

I believe that You are listening
I believe that You move at the sound of my voice

Give me dove's eyes

Give me undistracted devotion for only You

I was just listening to the KJV audio in the Book of Song of Solomon and it referred to having dove's eyes so I started a search on why one would be told they have dove eyes. I found that a dove's eyes are binocular vision and focused only on one thing at a time. Therefore; the next verse of this song supports the above definition of dove's eyes. This would keep the focus on the one person it is being sung to. That what we now may call tunnel vision, focused with no distractions. And the writer makes it as a request, knowing that there are things in this life that cause distractions such as other people, careers, activities, and so on. Through it all, that their sole focus in the heart is on one person that they love. This is what I believe to be the meaning of these lyrics.
