They say there's a place
where dreams have all gone
They never said where
but I think I know
It's miles through the night
just over the dawn
on the road that will take me home

I know in my bones
I've been here before
The ground feels the same
though the land's been torn
I've a long way to go
The stars tell me so
on this road that will take me home

Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And I'll know what I've lost
and all that I've won
when the road finally takes me home

And when I pass by
don't lead me astray
Don't try to stop me
Don't stand in my way
I'm bound for the hills
where cool waters flow
on this road that will take me home

Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And we'll know what we've lost
and all that we've won
when the road finally takes me home

I'm going home
I'm going home
I'm going home

This is the most beautiful and haunting song i have ever heard. We played it at my sister grace's funeral on july 1, 2012. Many had never heard it. It is so right for someone going home. I know just about everyone will be looking for it. Mary has the greatest voice, the words are wonderful. I cannot imagine a better song to sing any where, but especially at a funeral. I can't imagine anyone but her singing it. But this is awsome. Along with elvis' milky white way and if we never meet again. It was the best going home gift for her. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

"whoever does not love does not know god, because god is love. " - 1john 4:8.
This life is a fleeting breath that is over in a flash. Soon, without knowing the time or the day, the road we are on will take us to our eternal home. Whether that home will be eternal joy in the presence of the glory of god, or eternal punishment in complete separation from him is our choice. We have the choice to accept jesus as our lord and savior, the one and only god who came in flesh as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
Mary states, "love waits for me 'round the bend, leads me endlessly on. " if you are in christ, christ is god and god is love. He will lead you all the days of your life, until this road of life leads us home where we shall see him face to face. Then, when we see him face to face, "surely sorrows shall find their end and all our troubles will be gone. " in eternity, all of our worldly possessions will be for naught. They will burn in the presence of god. Only that which is eternal, that which we have done for the glory of god and for jesus christ, will stand the flame. So "we will know all that we have lost," worthless, meaningless, worldly possessions, "and all that we have won," eternal joy as the result of living a life to the glory of jesus no matter the cost to ourselves.
"this is how god showed his love among us: he sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved god, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. " - 1john 4:9-10
