This song is amazing , and it has so much raw emotion.
I think it's about how honesty can salvage almost every relationship. If you lie it most likely hurts the person more afterwards , and i think that Grillmaster21 writes a lot but all of it was absolutley true

Obviously a couple is on the brink of a break-up or divorce, he's still interested in doing damage control and salvaging what ever foundation may remain of this tattered relationship. It'll take work and most important HONESTY. THe clever part of this song (among several others) is that the individual who's put these feelings ans interpretations on paper has so cleverly done so that they've correctly identified each and every detriment in their relationship, namley: HerHis insecurities that effect their trust in each other, she's present but despondent when they're out together (You show up but you're not there.) And perhaps the biggest malcontent is she is so emotionally devoid of feeling even to the point of not accepting a willing and wanting hand for ANY help he's offering, and she's to prideful to take personal accountability any and all faults that she inflicts upon the relationship example: "But you're still too reluctant to accept my help What a shame, I hope you find somewhere to place the blame But until then the fact remains..." She has to keep blaming either circumstance, HIM, her surrounding elements, her own insecurities that are a direct result of poor emotional management. On a ligher note the song does end with some promise, he wants to help, and isn't totally prepared to give up on her or the relationship, but in the same instance, he's preparing for the separation that may inevitably follow.
