    This song is written to God saying that He's everything, everything that we need. He is the light, the peace, the strength, the hope, the trust, our purpose, our everything! He calms the storms, gives us rest, holds us in His arms, stills our hearts, takes us deeper in love. How can we stand here and not be moved by God's love? How can anything be better than His love? He's all we want! All we need! Everything!

    Actually the lyrics is about God . You can't have such divine relationship with man.. it's God .. expecially the relationship with the holy Spirit. God is my purpose and my everything and I can't be in his presence and not get moved nor touch .. his presence comes with something great I can't explain... That's why king David never stop being in God's presence when his presence come and I am not moved by him then it's really can spring up such question why.. I have ask my self servals times I can't feel u Lord please come because I know when you presence come I can't be the way I was before you came

    He's talking about god. Our one and only god, the alpha and omega. He's expressing how god has been there for him and kept him strong through all of the turmoil in his life. All the troubles. And it's true. God stays with you. And he wants to help you. We just have to listen. God loves you. He loves us all. Please pray to him and start seeking true life and love of him before it's too late.

    A song is a song, author might have written the song for his purposes and each and every man can interpret it in their own way :). For me it definitely expresses the feeling of Highest Love, the Love in which is our beginning and I love to sing this for my Lord. But hey that's not about religion. For me God and religion are nothing in common, God is a person, a Spirit, my beloved Father not some law or doctrine, Bless You all who likes this song:) and wish You to experience His love, because then You can really love others! :)

    First time heard. I thought it was about a girl. At this that's how I imagined at first till I saw the lyrics with the capital Y. As for me. It's a bit of both. Coz one thing I realized is that he was asking you to tell him how could it better than this. I know its actually an expression so that's y as for me I think this is about a man thanking god for his perfect match.

    I agree this song is far too profound to be a song dedicated to man or woman, it is something much deeper than that. It is a love that surpasses all our understanding. Like the song says, it is a love that gives us rest, strength, hope and purpose. A love that can be found in none other but God himself. So I hope that you will all listen to it carefully, and realize that this is far more than any single person could do for us, but God alone.

    I loved this song I used a video of the skit for one of my lessons. It was so powerful and ever since I've seen the video I'm so addicted to the song cause its a constant reminder that regardless of where we are in our lives and whatever struggles we go through Jesus is always there for us and will pull us back to him and protect us and give us healing.

    My youth group has been performing this skit for a long time now. Our interperative dance group goes to many different churches around our county in Oklahoma to perform it. I love doing it, too. Its very powerful. Although, it does take a lot of strength out of you. You know, getting beat up and everything. I love how it sets out all the huge difficulties and temptations in our life. No matter how far away from Jesus we are, he's always there trying to wave us back to him, trying to pull us away from the temptations of life. We are so blessed to have the gift that Jesus has given us: the gift of choice, and free will. Even when we don't deserve to be loved he's always waiting with open arms.

    I love this song so much, and I also love the skit to it. It's amazing, it makes me cry. The high school students at my school did the skit for us, and I got so into it. The skit is basically about this girl who is with Jesus. But things and people are seperating her from Him. And she is fighting the people to get to Jesus, and eventually she does! This song means that God is everything! ☺.

    The video is an awesome way to depict how god fights for you when you ask for his help. After all the bible says to ask and you shall receive. The guy in black, the "money man", the "makeup girl," and the drinking girl are all ways of showing sin or the worlds temptations, trying to distract us from god. Today during our church service we sang this song and when we got to the " cause you're all i want" part of the song, I started to cry at how true it was for me.

    We all know that this is a love song. But people, don't be ignorant! How can you compare the love from a boyfriend to the love of God?!?!?!? It doesn't compare at all. Gods love is not compared with anything! This song is a praise and love to God not to a bf nor a gf, but to him who died for your sins. So please listen to the song again, but this time don't think of your bf. Think of your father and king sitting on his throne! My love for God dsnt compare with no love! Thank you father!

    I’m an atheist so this song doesn’t really mean anything about god to me. This song reminds me of the love of my life. He saved me from myself and stopped me from ending my life. He has been there through thick and thin for me and without him I don’t know what I’d do. I dedicate this song to him and hope he knows if he sees this that I love him and will always love him. This song has a meaning of love and hope for me. I love my boy and hope he knows that I’m there like he has been for me. Even when I annoyed him he’s been there. Even through our petty squabbles he’s been there and I will love him forever for that.

    I think this song is good for anyone who has struggled in life. I am a sign intepter and I think this is a song that can relate to the deaf in a lot of ways. I believe that Jesus is the way the truth and the life and seeing this song in sign language is beautiful seeing people do plays and skits to it is amazing. I hope that when people listen to this song they realize that whatever the e going through is just temporary and life gets better just give it time. Sometimes the things that cause us to fall the hardest is when we realize that we need to hit our knees and pray and he will be that light to the cold heart, he can and will guide you through dark and lonely paths he will be a father he is the everlasting life and we can trust him even though it is hard you have t give it all to him. I hope people hear this song and know that every word of it is true.

    To each and everyone of us it means something different. It could be the thought of everlasting love, love for God friends family, anyone. But for me this song holds a dear spot. My boyfriend who really means everything to me dedicated this song to me. And it brought me to tears. I love him forever always. I hope (and know) that we will last for our lifetime.     He's everything I could ever want. Everything is a perfect word to describe him. He has everything I could ever want in a guy. He does everything right. He see's everything right in me. He says everything the right way. I can't think of a more perfect person to spend everything that I do in my life with for the rest of my life.
    I just hope he knows this. It's like this crazy ache that I have in my heart for him. I don't understand how he couldn't feel it too. He's my everything. I want to be his everything more than anything in the world.

    Agreed that this song could be about God or a lover.
    Being deeply in love right now, I can counter some points that wayoflife made on the last page. Your lover can calm storms. Inner storms. They can make you at ease, bring you peace. I don't need Jesus to know what my lover makes me feel is true. And I don't need Jesus to know what peace or love is. Right now, my lover is the shining light of my life. He has the ability to make everything feel okay again, no matter what my problem or worry. My purpose does not lie in my religion, it lies within my choices. And yes, I suppose if you are a "true" Christian, than God is ultimately your everything. But to me, that's only in Heaven. In life, you can't denounce the effect others have on you, just because Jesus holds a higher place with you. Think a little deeper, past God, and think about a personal situation. If someone pulled you from the brink, you would feel as though they could do anything, and that they were your everything. I can see how some parts can be interpreted as Christian, but overall I think it's a dedication to a loved one.

    See I don't think its about god because a lot of people think that lifehouse is a christian band, but in actuality they don't consider themselves a christian rock band. I mean its a good and powerful song to use it in churches but I really believe that is about a lover or even about making love, especially since its so slow and the melody is somewhat romantic, and when he says "Would you take me in take me deeper now" buuut that could just be my interpretation, and lifehouse likes their audience to interpret their music however they see it.
