Love this song, and just lifehouse period! I think this song is about a guy who's found god, finally, and falling in love with him, not a girl. (desperate for changing, starving for truth) maybe "i'm closer to where i started, chasing after you" is meaning that he drifted away from god and is coming back to him, giving jesus everything freely and not sure of what will happen because of it, waiting for god to reveal his plan to him!

I guess it's about a guy who finally realizes that he has outgrown his emotions for a former love of his life because a new one unexpectedly turned his heart 360 degrees. He remains uncertain though of how things will turn out but he is hopeful for a positive outcome. He probably felt dejection before. Now, he'll pursue happiness no matter what it takes. This time, with his new found love.

To me this song is like he's letting go of someone/something that he loved that he couldn't have, so he's letting go of that and starting over with someone new that he's falling in love with. Maybe. Either that or he's letting go of all fears of love and committment, just to fall in love.

This is how life goes when you fall in love. It makes me think of how my fiance was before and after we got together. He let go of all his fear of my family not accepting him. He didn't care as long as he was with me. He is the most amazing person i've ever known. I love him with all my heart and soul.
