Trouble will find you
No matter where you go
Oh, oh
No matter if you're fast
No matter if you're slow
Oh, oh
The eye of the storm
Wanna cry in the morn
Oh, oh
You're fine for a while
But you start
To lose control
He's there in the dark
He's there in my heart
He waits in the wings
He's gotta play a part
Trouble is a friend
Yeah
Trouble
Is a friend of mine
Ahh
Trouble is a friend
But trouble is a foe
Oh, oh
And no matter
What I feed him
He always seems to grow
Oh, oh
He sees what I see
And he knows
What I know
Oh, oh
So don't forget
As you ease
On down my road [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/l/lenka/trouble_is_a_friend.html ]
He's there in the dark
He's there in my heart
He waits in the wings
He's gotta play a part
Trouble is a friend
Yeah
Trouble
Is a friend of mine
So don't be alarmed
If he takes you
By the arm
I roll down the window
I'm a sucker
For his charm
Trouble is a friend
Yeah
Trouble
Is a friend of mine
Ahh
How I hate the way
He makes me feel
And how I try
To make him leave
I try
Oh, oh, I try
But he's
There in the dark
He's there in my heart
He waits in the wings
He's gotta play a part
Trouble is a friend
Yeah
Trouble
Is a friend of mine
So don't be alarmed
If he takes you
By the arm
I roll down the window
I'm a sucker
For his charm
Trouble is a friend
Yeah
Trouble
Is a friend of mine
Ahh

I thinks it's about fighting an addiction (drugs, alcohol, sex, food.. Whatever). On the one hand, she hates the addiction, but it's also comforting... Like a friend that you know is bad for you.
"oh how i hate the way he makes me feel. And how i try to make him leave. Oh oh i try". She's really trying to quit the addiction, but she finds it hard.

This song is a way of reaching out to her fans, that trouble is a friend of hers. It is saying that trouble is not a foe! Not an enemy! You can trust trouble. That is because trouble is a bffl.

Don't make this song more complicated than it is. Anyone can relate to this song, because everyone goes through some kind of trouble. You can't control or subdue trouble. It's a burden of life. You just have to deal with it.

People who thinks too much like lukeattila will certainly die easily. They're making simple things so complicated.
The song speaks of life's truth. Problems are inevitable. It's how a person deals with it. It's either he fights it or be succumbed by it.
The apostle paul speaks similarly in the 7th chapter of his letter to the romans:
"for what i am doing, i do not understand; for i am not practicing what i would like to do, but i am doing the very thing i hate. But if i do the very thing i do not want to do, i agree with the law, confessing that the law is good. So now, no longer am i the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. " v. 15-17
The "trouble" is sin, our human tendency to say, "not thy will be done, but my will be done. "
It's "there in my heart", "waiting in the wings" to "play a part". "how i hate the way he makes me feel"
"how i try to make him leave; i try, i try" but she fails.
Similar to paul in romans 7:24, "wretched man that i am! Who will set me free ...? " the answer is jesus christ, who said in john 8:31-2, "if you continue in my word, then you are truly disciples of mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. "
