Kristene Mueller – All My Devotion lyrics

Beautiful Man,
Beautiful God,
You're more than worth my time.
You're more than worth these longings of my heart
Left unfulfilled,
Just for a time.

Beautiful Man,
Beautiful God,
You're more than worth my time.
You're more than worth these longings of my heart
Left unfulfilled,
Just for a time.

And I know You don't come as easy as some,
But I will watch and pray,
I will watch and pray.

Beautiful Man,
Beautiful God,
You're more than worth my time.
You're more than worth these longings of my heart
Left unfulfilled,
Just for a time.

And I know You don't come as easy as some,
But I will watch and pray,
I will watch and pray.
And I know You don't come as easy as some,
But I will watch and pray,
I will watch and pray.

Take it all,
Take it all,
Just give me Jesus,
Just give me Jesus.

Take it all,
Take it all,
Just give me Jesus,
Just give me Jesus.

I don't want any other lovers,
I don't want any other lovers,
I don't want any other lovers,
I don't want any other lovers,
For all my devotion belongs to this Man,
All my devotion belongs to this Man,
All my devotion belongs to this Man,
All my devotion belongs to this Man.

And I know You don't come as easy as some,
But I will watch and pray,
I will watch and pray.

And I know You don't come as easy as some,
But I will watch and pray,
I will watch and pray.

Yes, god is near to us and never leaves us. But there are times when it is more difficult to sense his presence. And we are still waiting for the day when all of his promises will be fulfilled. There are many scriptures that speak of waiting for him. Though he tarry, wait for him. And we wait in hope.
When the israelites were in the desert and god seemed distant, they had aaron create a golden calf for them to worship. They wanted something accessible, something they could see, something more tangible then they were getting in that moment from god.
In this song I believe she is saying-though you seem distant at times, I don't want any other idols. I'm not going to make a "golden calf" to cling to when you seem far. Just give me jesus. He is worth the wait and I will cling to him alone and his promises because he is far better than anything else.

Psalm 145: 18 says the lord is near to all who call upon him,
to all who call upon him in truth. 1 cor 3: 16 and 1 cor 6: 16 say that you are the temple of the holy ghost. There are many other such scriptures. This song makes you feel like god is far away somewhere and that he is reluctant to come when we call on him. Just read luke 15 - the parable of the prodigal son- the father is waiting for us to just mention his name- he is right there with you. When we change our perspective, it will be much easier to enjoy his presence as he is with us - john 16: 33 - lo I am with you even to the ends of the world. Heb 13: 5 - I will never leave you nor forsake you. The greek word actually means I will never ever leave you. His name itself is immanuel- god with us.
