Kristoff: Really?
I'm guessing you don't have much experience with heat.

Olaf: Nope! But sometimes I like to close my eyes,
And imagine what it'd be like when summer does come
.

Bees'll buzz, kids'll blow dandelion fuzz
And I'll be doing whatever snow does in summer.
A drink in my hand, my snow up against the burning sand
Prob'ly getting gorgeously tanned in summer.

I'll finally see a summer breeze, blow away a winter storm.
And find out what happens to solid water when it gets warm!
And I can't wait to see, what my buddies all think of me.
Just imagine how much cooler I'll be in summer.

Dah dah, da doo, uh bah bah bah bah bah boo

The hot and the cold are both so intense,
Put 'em together it just makes sense!

Rrr Raht da daht dah dah dah dah dah dah dah dah doo

Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle,
But put me in summer and I'll be a ' happy snowman!

When life gets rough, I like to hold on to my dream,
Of relaxing in the summer sun, just lettin' off steam.

Oh the sky will be blue, and you guys will be there too
When I finally do what frozen things do in summer.

Kristoff: I'm gonna tell him.

Anna: Don't you dare!

Olaf: In summer!

I think this song is talking about wanting something that you don't know will hurt you. Olaf is a snowman, wanting to be in summer, but the heat of summer will melt him, and hurt him. It doesn't make him think that he would die, because it just seems brighter and better.

Really. This song is just Olaf saying he wants something he can't have for reasons he can't know. The reason Anna fosbt want Kristoff to tell him is because she wants him to hold onto his dreams much As she did persisting to have a good life with Elsa though their parents died. The movie is actually quiet sad and about a small girl trying to have a good life as tragity rains opinion her and when her sister runs away she becomes desperate for some hope to have a decent life witch she never ends up getting until the end of the movie. A good movie. But horibly misunderstood. Sorry if this turned into a movie review.

I think the meaning is basically that he wants what he can't have- or as Shakespeare would say- a fool's paradise. A crazy dream you hope for but the possibility of it turning out the way you want is very, very slim. Kristoff saying he's going to tell Olaf that he'll melt in the summer time emphasizes this.
