The song depicts a relationship and a guy who is in deeply love with a girl, but she turns out to have led him on and ended it abruptly.

He rethinks what has happened, saying that his love for her, the kisses they shared that seemed so much like a fairytale, should never have happened. He comes to a stop, wondering why he is thinking these thoughts, and realises that it's just himself, creating boundaries and fences around himself and trying to protect him from getting hurt once more.

This is where it started"

He was lost in love and didn't know what he was doing. He knew that it was wrong and that he was stupid to have fallen for her, but he couldn't let go. The last three lines in this verse show how he's back to where he was, and has unavoidably lost his heart to her again.

He continues to say how much he loves her, even though she was bad and had led him on, he was still there for her. He wants her back, but he's confused because as she walks away, she tells him that she wants to go back to him. He wants to say more but stops himself, to protect himself.

He wonders why she's not ashamed of what she did, saying that he paid the price for what happened to him and that it was his fault. He says that it's not her who broke his heart, but himself, because he could have walked away but his heart wouldn't allow him. He wanted her so badly he couldn't see the light.

Please don't go. "

His heart is going against his mind, trying to convince it that she's changed and it's all right for him to love her again. She's broken through the barriers that his mind had formed and he wants her back for real this time.
