One day your story will be told.
One of the lucky ones who's made his name.
One day they'll make you glorious,
Beneath the lights of your deserved fame.
And it all comes round.
Once in a lifetime like it always does.
Everybody loves you 'cause you've taken a chance,
Out on a dance to the moon, too soon.
And they'll say told you so.
We were the ones who saw you first of all.
We always knew that you were one of the brightest stars.
One day they'll tell you that you've changed,
Though they're the ones who seem to stop and stare.
One day you'll hope to make the grave,
Before the papers choose to send you there.
And it all comes round.
Once in a lifetime like it always does.
Nobody loves you 'cause you've taken a chance,
Out on a dance to the moon, too soon.
And they'll say told you so.
We were the ones who saw you first of all.
We always knew that you were one of the brightest stars.
And they'll say told you so.
We were the ones who saw you first of all.
We always knew that you were one of the brightest

    J. Blunt sings about how people react to someone being succesful/famous. One day they're happy for that person but suddenly they've changed their opinion about that successful person.

I think James Blunt got this idea from Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" -

"But now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say Ive changed.
Well something's lost, but something's gained
    In living every way."

I love this one. It says that one day people love you for some reasons and the other day people hate you for the same reasons!! they think you've changed but infact they themselves have changed!

well...this song talks about a girl (as far as i can tell)
that wants and believes that will be famous...
so a boy (i suppose james blunt) tells her exactly what will happend when she will become gamous ...with all the goods and the bad consequenses...i love it...because his words are like an angel's words!
