Iration – Go That Road lyrics

A fork in the road
No plan of action
Stuck in the middle and I've got no traction
Got no job but I'm educated
The travelled path's so overrated

Maybe I don't wanna go that route
And I don't care what you're talking about
Maybe I just want to go my own way

I don't wanna go that road
Breaking myself just to get a little closer
I don't wanna go that road
Breaking myself just to get a little closer

Shade from a tree and the ocean breeze
Not a care in my mind I'm exactly where I want to be
You tell me I'm lost and you tell me I'm wasted
I'll tell you dreams are the only thing in life worth chasing

I never listen to the ones that say 'you'll never find means to an end that way'
The path twists and turns and breaks but the heart of the matter is you and maybe...
It might lead you to a cold dark place
Oh winds and the skies might rage
But as long as I'm living I know that I will always say...

Sounds like the life of Millenials these days. "Fork in the road and no plan of action" obviously suggests he is at crossroads in life. "Stuck in the middle, got not traction" is like he is trapped and powerless to do anything about it. "Got no job but I'm educated" is self explanatory. "THe traveled path's so overrated" may mean the old rout our predecessors took doesn't work anymore. So why should we "break ourselves just to get a little closer" to this already banal and oversold existence? No advice from older generations ever worked, so we walk our own path in life.
