I Set My Friends On Fire WTFWJD lyrics

Have you ever heard a thunder bolt voice your name?
Lets all just reach our hands into the dark,
And feel what reaches back!
I stopped subscribing to you a long time ago,
But I still see you, every fucking month!

Don't get the octopus upset,
It may eat itself!
If only we could grow back our privileges.
Tunnel vision. (If only I could touch your face again! )
I am not sleeping;
I'm only resting my eyes,
I'm only resting my eyes!

I didn't think that air could scream in resistance,
Until you, approached me protesting your advancement,
Don't walk any closer, don't you dare, walk any closer!
I forgot who you were...

"Game over"
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/i/i_set_my_friends_on_fire/wtfwjd.html ]
A dinner party, a last chance,
A love song, a bear dance.
Raising tension on your rhythmic pounding,
I knew you were scared!
Didn't think that I would play dead.
Next time come to class fully prepared.

Reply to my lines like we practiced earlier today.
Oh come on don't be shy!
They'll applause to anything you have to say!

I spy! YOU SPY! with my little eye.
That the desert you've deserted is a little dry.

Drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you,
Want me to say! I am so thirsty!

Drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you
Want me to say! I am so thirsty!

Drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you
Want me to say! I am so thirsty!

Drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you
Want me to say! I am so thirsty!

Drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry...

I love seeing how you people who are so smart and would never fall for "religion" can't even spell or use proper punctuation... It is literally hilarious.

The only thing remotely "religious" about the song is the title, nothing else in the song can even be referred to as even a faint resemblance of any religious belief. Who believes that god is a thunderbolt? How is moisture even related to any world religion? And even if moisture is referring to religion matt is saying "drinking the moisture from the air,
I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you
Want me to say! I am so thirsty! "

So is he saying he needs religion since he is thirsty? Only an idiot who has a one track mind and constantly wants to prove "religious" people wrong would interpret this song as being about "religion being shoved down our throats"

This song is a genius way of saying religion is bullshit, and its always being shoved down our throats

Honestly... You guys are wayyy over thinkking the song... Artists for decades write songs about... Nothing, that have no meaning... Look at kurt cobain.. Everyone thought he was deep and shit, but you later find out, that he wrote his stuff last minute in the studio and it was shit.. Look at david bowie, people thought his song :the bewlay brothers" was a deep, complex song, but later finding out it was garbage, it was nothing... I think the band is just writing in a comedic, awesome funny way, and you guys are just overthinking and searching for a meaning, but thats not what music is about... Music is about listning and enjoying, not overthinking... Also, another example of artists writing nothing is lou reed

It is about religion to those who dont believe it is, tbh, the name kinda gives it away. W - what
t - the
f - f***
w - would
j - jesus
d - do
... So yeah, believe it :)

The first line- "have you ever heard a thunderbolt voice your name? "
it's literally asking if you've ever spoken to god.

"let's all just reach... Reaches back-"
that's talking about questioning religion, and seeing what the answers ay be if you just stopped to think.

"i stopped subscribing... See you every month"
the religion was given up, but it's still in his life/shoved down his throat

And that's just the first verse. Also, jessechisel126 was correct. This song is about religion, deal with it. Then again, if you're too immature to see the obvious flaws in religion, i wouldn't expect you to even catch a hint from this song.
