Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy lyrics

It don't really matter
You're gonna find out for yourself
No it don't really matter
You're gonna leave this thing to somebody else

If they were missionaries
Real time visionaries
Sitting in a Chinese stew
To view my dis-in-fat-u-ation

I know that I'm a classic case
Watch my disenchanted face
Blame it on the Falun Gong
They've seen the end and it can't hold on now

'Cause it would take a lot more hate than you
To end the fascination
Even with an iron fist
All they got to rule the nation
When all I've got is precious time
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/guns_n_roses/chinese_democracy.html ]
It don't really matter
Guess I'll keep it to myself
Said it don't really matter
It's time I look around for somebody else

'Cause it would take a lot more time than you
Have got for masturbation
Even with your iron fist
All they got to rule the nation
When all we got is precious time
All they got to fool the nation
When all I got is precious time

It don't really matter
I guess you'll find out for yourself
No it don't really matter
So you can hear it now from somebody else

You think you got it all locked up inside
And if you beat 'em enough they'll die
It's like a walk in the park from a cell
And now you're keeping your own kind in hell
When your great wall rocks blame yourself
While their arms reach up for your help
And you're out of time

The chinese have more of a democracy than the usa, he write about how the us treats it's own citizens "and now you're keeping your own kind in hell" the line " it's like a walk in a park from a cell" is in reference to how in the past, to get past the 1980's cencership laws they would say that their songs are about "a walk in the park" this line is indicating that there is a subliminal meaning to the lyrics, the song also refers to the collapse, or replacement of the usa as the ruling superpower, with china, the line s" all they got to rule the nation when all we got is preciuos time" indicates this

People shouldn't fear the government, it's the government that should fear the people. If a government keeps denying its people of the freedoms they deserve (esp. If the gov tortures, kills those who demand for freedom/speak against the gov), the government will crumble within a matter of time. Sure, the government can gain some control by monitoring the media and by selling its propaganda, but such tyranny cannot last. The government will collapse under the protest of its people sooner or later; it's only a matter of time, and all i've got is precious time.

Every -heartless- chinese man quivers at the knowledge that all they have is an iron fist to rule their nation - starving and screaming their good, working people suffer, while their rich blabber about the situations in afghanistan and iraq in desperate, capitulating defense.. By all that is real and good the best of the chinese people shall rise against their barbaric overlords, these horrid overlords that shall one day be a remnant of their past as their good shall come to reign. And why not? The good people of the chinese outnumber their worst by so much that the future is all but nuclear. Let the great people of china take back their nation at any cost... Have they not suffered enough? Foresee the chinese democracy!!!

We chinese people love china very much. But we should also listen to some different voices. After all, every one has his/her own mind and the opinion to the world. We chinese people need it so badly. We can't hold our so-called "the right way". Instead, we should listen to the world. And find a way to make our nation better.

Falungong?! It is a joke! Go ahead and look into their doctrine concerning people with mixed racial back ground, it will surprise you what will end up happening to obama after he dies...

Why should china need democracy? Look what "the democratic usa" did in iraq and afghanistan. Is the usa saying that those people there need democracy, yeah, then brought it with slaughter. What a beautiful work have done by democracy. China will be fine without it. Go to china and see by youself if you have balls, ignorant men

I think the song is addressed primarily to the minority ruling elite in the ccp, and addresses their rediculous bid to cling to power at all costs in china. The specific example of their persecution of falun gong is an extremely good illustration of their paranoia, and the lengths of evil to which they will sink. It also points out the futility of their violence against this group. 'blame it on the falun gong,' axl spits, ridiculing the way the ccp blame external forces for its problems; the choice of target - a peaceful group of spiritualists - highlights their silliness. Then comes a reference to, i believe, the 'quit the ccp' campaign that falun gong have been involved in, since they started being tortured - 'they've seen the end,' he suggests 'and it (the party's grip on china) can't hold on now. '

The next stanza i think refers to the way a sincere belief can bring comfort and meaning to a life, and that this is far more profound than anything torture, pain or 'organ harvesting' can intimidate with. 'it would take alot more hate than you/ to end the fascination. ' the phrase 'alot more... Than you' really drives how the feebleness of the ccp, in their attempts to bully people into believing what they claim is good for them and the country. Why are they so afraid of people telling the truth anyway? Probably because china could exist with out them - and did for millenia - and will again.

Republics, democrats, it makes no difference except as an excuse. It used to be left - right. Now it’s east - west. Problem is by the time the ideals of "freedom", "democracy", "capitalism" etc even come close to being achieved universally there won't be anything left to rule. Some people say the end justifies the means but i say the means is the end. You are what you eat. The world needs to come together to end social and environmental degradation not use each other as an excuse to remain ignorant. The world needs to admit that it's simply greedy, egoistic and selfish, and self destructive. That it's not good enough! And to have faith in something much, much greater than them.
