Breathing slowly, mechanical heartbeat
Losing contact with the living
Almighty TV plugged, hybrid empty brain
Don't see anything real in the game
The tension is building constantly
No reason just a reflex I have, driven by clockwork
I try to keep an eye open
And I realize I haven't closed my eyes in a long time

Neglected emotions lead to catastrophic voyage on the other side
I have been given so much stress and lack of confidence
I've been given the gift of so small hope deep inside
I haven't closed my eyes in a long time, I am trying

I cannot stomach these forms and colors anymore
But I'm here to continue, after all I have been through
I try to keep my eyes open, I am realizing
This life and death more precious than anything

I won't bring no material in the after life
Take no possessions, I would rather travel light
I'm of this kind that kills all day
But I don't know yet how to die

Art of dying, is the way to let all go
Within I practice in the secret of my soul
My shape in the reflector
Has now for ever, a life on it's own

Actually, its about the fact that we kill ourselves by neglecting our minds and practically worshipping the television.

He then talks about how nothing of material is needed.

This song talks about how mankind is being robotized by itself and forgetting the value of life. Then when we die we will realize that life like this makes no sense and we should lived more alive with feelings and open eyed to the real world. How mankind is selfish and too much ambitious. We won´t take money, power or anything like that to the afterlife. Joe talks about how the world current situation steals his hope and confidence on a better future, still he'll continue and try to fight this way of life.

Gojira. Writes slot of tracks relating to the selfishness of humankind. The art of dying is a song of depression and agony. About a past hell he encountered or is still encountering. Forcing him to points of triggering death. He feels he cant go on until he finds new strength. Life.

I think he's talking about how nature is actually on the t. V sometimes, but he just changes the chanel because he doesn't like it as much as the sports one, and he doesn't take luggage on planes, because then he has to pay for overhead e.g "take no possessions, i would rather travel light".
