One of these days, the ground will drop out from beneath your feet.
One of these days, your heart will stop and play it's final beat.
One of these days, the clocks will stop and time won't mean a thing.
One of these days, their bombs will drop and silence everything.
But it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.
I said it's alright.
Easy for you to say.
Your heart has never been broken.
Your pride has never been stolen.
Not yet, not yet.
One of these days.
I bet your heart'll be broken.
I bet your pride'll be stolen.
I'll bet, I'll bet, I'll bet, I'll bet.
One of these days.
One of these days.
One of these days, your eyes will close and pain will disappear.
One of these days, you will forget to hope and learn to fear. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/f/foo_fighters/these_days.html ]
But it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.
I said it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.
Don't say it's alright.
Don't say it's alright.
Don't say it's alright.
One of these days your heart will stop and play it's final beat.
But it's alright.
One of these days.

The origin of "these days" is a very interesting and funny story.
It's about a stoner still on an acid high going to the grocery store to get some munchies. They happen to be out of his favorite cereal, king vitaman", and being a spoiled rock star, he screamed threats and promises of future curses (such as the earth opening up to swallow him, the manager, and every lowly damn employee who ever worked there. They had to call the police. In the end, it was a good time had by all!

I believe it's a conversation between age and youth... What has been experienced and what is yet to be experienced. Not sad at all to me.

I think this song is about death being a karma.. And when that person dies, it will be a depressing death..

Interesting lyrics, very depressing though. The writer doesn't seem to have any hope in their live. The words don't really make sense neither. One minute they are singer one day everything will come to an end, the next but it will be all right, then easy for you to say. They are depressing words that have no hope and if anyone has hope they are wishing that they don't. Probably one of the saddest songs i've heard. More importantly its really sad that anyone would write them and have these terrible feelings.

Its about treasuring every moment of life that you still have and that you have already experienced. Grohl states this before the song at some of his concerts
