I've just finished reading the hunger games trilogy, and this song reminds me katniss so much.

Seriously, has nobody here heard of the illuminati, the bilderberg group, bohemian grove, or even seen zietgiest? It's damn obvious what this song is about.. "new world order"

Get involved foo fans, dave meant this song to get the point across, but you guy's didn't get it. Hope you get it now. Peace

not dumb. I see both points; it could have a double meaning. I mean, it could mean going against the government, or anything corrupt in general. Like you said, skeletons in your closet/secrets-- you think the government doesn't have any? ***not to mention, the video has... Riot guards... In it. Just a point*** anyhow, i think my previous point is what it specifically talks about, and in a broader sense encompasses what you said. Don't be so short-minded, who said it was limited? And, i put quotes before what i said earlier-- it was someone else's interpretation, i was merely agreeing. But, i agree with both-- there's an immediate meaning to the song, and a more broad and general meaning.

From a womans point of view (thats me) and i know dave isnt (he is hot) but it could be either i think it means that he/she been shat on by someone who is a player and they are not going to take it like the others who have been played, they are going to give it back in spades. They are going to give pay back even if under duress, because they are angry this person has distrespected them. Throw all you have at me because im going nowhene im not breaking, you are not going to break me. They are asking who they think they are? Meaning they are nothing, we all have skeletons but its the integrity of the person that counts and the person they are facing up has none. The video alludes to law and societies rules, and it can be related to the collective and the individual. If we look at american history we can see this theme running all the way through it, individuality at the price of the collective, reganite republican one up man ship. And im english!

Most people ain't gonna believe this song fits everyday... For a 16 year old. There is to many peoples who act like they are worth more than anyone else. Ain't that piss you off too?

"ahem. This song is about the government and the military. The intro to the song, "keep you in the dark... Begin," had to deal with the government and censorship. The government keeps us in the dark by using censorship to block out anything they don't like. They are the pretenders as they use censorship to stop any negative words from going around, so they can pretend to be the greatest government. The lyric "send in your skeletons" means to send in your dead, which could also mean to send in your soldiers, as they die for their country. However, the lines "finished making sense... Ignorance" is also talking about soldiers, as they die for no reason. In the chorus, the singer is asking, what if i don't become what you want, i'm not going to follow you're ways. "i'm the voice inside your head... Knees" shows resistance between man and the government. As if the citizens are going to revolt and overthrow the government. The song is about man's struggle against an oppressive government, as the singer asks the listener, "who are you? ""

Awesome song about someone who has conned the world with spin for many years, who pretends to be someone they aren't and who holds secrets about what happened a long time ago. Yes, and about standing up to that person.

its about standing up and refusing to remain ignorant or apathetic in any relationship (with a person, employer, or the government... ) that manipulates you for undesireable motives. I agree. And also means that you should never give up just because there is something in your way.
