This song is about 2 lovers, so intense that it overcomes them both. For good or bad they are connected on a level that is above the normal plane of existance. The singer has obviously lost sight of that, or had no choice but to break that connection. Hes in pain over the loss but doesn't know exactly what to do to fix it. He feels like his insides are being ripped out from the pain he feels, and the pain that he has caused his love. I have a personal connection to this song...It was somehow wrote for me i think.

My interpretation of 37 stitches is from the view of a an idividual, who can really say if it is man, woman or child, has disappointed another individual. But as it does seem, i would think it is a man in a relationship with a woman, and it very well could be the act of infidelity that has occurred. For whatever the situation is he knows he has wronged someone very important to him. Have you ever just walked along somberly and kind of drag n kick your feet? With your head hung?The main character is expecting to be in trouble. he is wanting her to say something, anything. he has hurt her and he KNOWS it and he knows the end is here and there is no need to fight. She was his taste of heaven and ultimately the wrong doing that was committed was her hell. I am thinking that the sweet whistle of the piper was the temptation involved, another woman perhaps is the wrong hand that was guiding? His head is hung low in shame. Because there is no proof of a "dark side of the sun" , he realizes that she is the one and he has blown it. forever. He has lost someone and it is what it is...OVER.

I think the song is about two lovers that have the best sex in the world and are connected for all the wrong reasons. The person singing craves the other person and waits for the next "Taste" but he is either in a relationship or unavailible for some reason so being with the singer is dragging the other lover to hell, but they can't keep from wanting to be together.

I think this song may be about a guy, that for some reason always ends up in trouble's way whether he wants to or not. He wishes he could be saved by "the one" thats "a little taste of heaven". But he knows just as good as that person may be; he is equally as bad. This person sees him slipping away, down "the wrong path". Theres nothing either can do about it.
