Lisa: Leave me out with the waste
This is not what I do
It's the wrong kind of place
To be thinking of you
It's the wrong time
For somebody new
It's a small crime
And I've got no excuse
Lisa: Is that alright with you?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright with you?
If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it
Is that alright with you?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright with you?
With you...
Damien: Leave me out with the waste
This is not what I do
It's the wrong kind of place
To be cheating on you
It's the wrong time
She's pulling me through
It's a small crime
And I've got no excuse [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/damien_rice/9_crimes.html ]
Damien: Is that alright with you?
Give my gun away (Lisa: Is that alright? Yeah.)when it's loaded
Is that alright with you?
If you don't shoot it how (Lisa: Is that alright? Yeah. ) am I supposed to hold it

(Slight Overlap..)
Damien: Is that alright, yeah?
Lisa: Give my gun away when it's loaded
Damien: Is that alright, yeah?

It goes about to people who are in a relationship and are in love with another person. I don't think it has anything to do with sex...

Hi - first of all a really great song, and done very emotonally. I afraid my interpretation is pretty earthy but here goes [don't hate me my, parents made me this way]. To me the "gun" is a fredian reference to his penis/love. "if you don't shoot it how am i supposed to hold it". Or if i don't have sex with you how am i supposed t hold the need to orgasim. In this context the lyrics bare themselves. "give my gun away when it's loaded. Is that alright? Is that alright with you? " "it's the wrong kind of place to be cheating on you. It's the wrong time but she's pulling me through, it's a small crime and i've got no excuse. Is that alright". I sugest this means he's having sex with someone else without emotion because something is not allowing him to have sex with his lover. He's sexually frustrated and want permission to have sex with someone else. Considering muscians are often on the road, possibly it's because he is away from his lover for weeks. I'm just sayen.

No thing wrong with love. People has different story. Love is about experience also.

Seem different rhythms in true blood season 3 ep4, but really good!
Wow... I've heard it in shrek the third the first time and i've always wanted this song now i have it.. I totally love it. Lemme see... This song is about love's lonelyness.. Ritorical permission questions and sadness of a crime that is too small to be seen by people but when you know what you did it's vety difficult not to care... I love this song
This song is in true blood as well and how it was played in the background when the vampires were devouring the girl was really dramatic!
Btw, i think the song's meaning is about confusion as to how and when to move on from a relationship, and that moving on or dating somebody is "the crime" the song is talking about. That's all i have.
