I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready (Repeat 3 times)
I am taffy stuck and tongue tied
Stutter-shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready (Repeat 3 times)
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready (Repeat 3 times)
I am fine (Repeat 3 times)
It's about an eating disorder. People suffering from an eating disorder use this as a thinspo song.
'Black coffee and white eggs'. They eat and drink that because it helps stop hunger and has little calories.
'I am fine'
'Nobody gets to come inside'
I think it's about someone who has always seen the world in grey. Now that they have fallen in love they're ready to let down all their walls, now seemingly turning it all black and white... One of the best songs ever written... My favorite line is "i'm covered in skin/ no one gets to come in"...
This song is about life and the challenges we face in it. It's about getting rid of the gray that we have and only recognizing the extreme ends of the spectrum. Also, after recognizing the extremes that we encounter in life, we must also recognize our willingness (or unwillingness) to show them and fix it. "I am covered in skin" is my favorite line. It means that we defend and protect ourselves from the evils of the world in different ways and at all costs. But in the end, we must pull down our defenses, and ignore what the world thinks, and act with out judging ourselves or anyone else.
