Think Of Laura lyrics

Lyrics

Christopher Cross Think Of Laura lyrics

Every once in a while I'd see her smile
And she'd turn my days around
A girl with those eyes
Could stare through the lies
And see what my heart was saying

Think of Laura but laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way
When you think of Laura but laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/christopher_cross/think_of_laura.html ]
A friend of a friend
A friend to the end
That's the kind of girl she was
Taken away so young
Taken away without a warning

I know you and you're here
In every day we live
I know her and she's here
I can feel her when I sing

Hey Laura, where are you now
Are you far away from here
I don't think so
I think you're here
Taking our tears away

I think everyone has a "laura" that has touched their lives. Mine was "darla" (same number of letters ending in "a") it is so easy for me to plug darla s name into this song and feel what the writer felt.

For me laura is a kind of a girl where most people around her loved her, laura is a person who are willing to died because of friendship, she is an pop star in her town because of her goodness. That's the kind of girl she is, but time comes, laura has passed away unexpectedly. People that she left behind such as her family, cousins, friends, etc. Has been sad. They missed laura. The way she is. But instead of being sad, be happy. Co'z that's what laura wants.

Obviously this is about a women named laura who dies but it has many meanings to those who it touches. For those who have lost a love one named laura, i'm sure it has extremly special meaning whether it was a sister, aunt, cousin, friend, mother or grandmother. My mother was in hospice for 2 days before she passed away and my husband and i played this song on our laptop 2 hours before she took her last breath. This was the very last song she heard before she died and her name was laura. Before she even became sick, when i would hear this song it always made me sad because i knew the day would come when i would lose her and it would then have even more meaning for me. Thank you christopher for writing this song in honor of your laura which has touched so many lives. What better way to pay respect and honor your laura and so many others' laura's too. Your song will live beyond all the pain loss brings to those who have had their loved laura pass on.

I have always loved this song from the first time i ever heard it. I never knew the name of it or who sang it but every now & then when i would hear it on the radio, i listened to it instead of turning the station. A few months back mmm in november of 2009, i was driving in my mustang convertible & i heard the song on the radio & decided that i was going to find out the name of the song & the artist by googling it when i got home & sure enough i did. Now i listen to think of laura several times a month on my computer. I think christopher cross looks alot like my friends ex (donald goodman) from kokomo, in. Anyway, i love your music & i feel you are a very talented musician.

This song is an old time favorite. I like its melody without minding the whole message, until my sister whose name is laura died of an accident. It is only today when i read it through and felt that the song is made for my sister. I am both sad and glad because this song brings my sister back to me... To us.
