It means to have a joyful christmas with your family and to learn that its better to give that to get and this holiday means to be thankful for everything you got beacuse there are familes out there you dont have a home and dont have enough food to eat so be thankful for what you got and celebrate the day jesus christ was born. And merry christmas and have a happy new year and goof night

I thought it was 'glad tidings we bring' instead of 'good tidings' and there was something about figgy pudding, but this still helped me writing a Christmas Carol song sheet!

This song means a lot to me, whenever i hear it it reminds me of my family and all the happy memories of us together. Memories of children laughing, roasting chestnuts on an open fire, the anticipation of what is for me under the Christmas tree, huge turkeys on a huge table and singing carols. But among all the fun sometimes we forget that something more important than anything happened on that night. Jesus Christ came into the world. the one single light that outshone the darkness that was overtaking the world. he brought life, love, hope and courage into the world. Even in modern times he still brings peace, in the wars with Germany, Britain, e.t.c. they all stopped fighting to remember this great king that saved us all from evil. they played good games of footie and sang carols to each other.
May the peace be with you. Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!

I believe the lyrics are "good tidings we bring, to you and your kin". It means we bring happy wishes to you and your family. I haven't heard it as "king" before although that sounds nice too. There are many versions of this song and this one is nice and simple and to the point of sharing a nice Christmas with your family.
