La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la la la la la la la la la-a
La, la, la, la, laaa

Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you wanna start something new
And it's breakin' my heart you're leavin'
Baby, I'm grievin'
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

[Chorus]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile, girl
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl

You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breakin' my heart in two
Because I never wanna see you sad, girl
Don't be a bad girl
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware

Chorus x 2

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la la la la la la la la la-a
La, la, la, la, laaa

But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

Chorus

Sung about a younger than him girl, she was wild hence the word "wild" in the song,he told her don't be a bad girl, because she was a bit of a rebel, he wanted her to stay with him, but she had to go, in his eyes she was childish in her ways not surprising though she was a lot younger than him and although wild, she had not lived the kind of life he had been living, which at that time was probably more wild than the girls..they both had sweet feelings for each other, but sadly it wasn't the right time so she left that's when he realized he had fallen in love with her, but it was too late.

Stevens developed a relationship with a young american woman, patti d'arbanville, and the two were a pair throughout a period of two years or so. During that time, he wrote several songs about her, including the hit song "wild world. "

The song is in the form of the singer's words to his departing lover, inspired by the end of their romance.

Maintenant que je me suis donné à toi
tu dis vouloir passer à autre chose
et cela me brise le coeur que tu me quittes
baby, j'ai du mal... Mais si tu veux partir, fais attention à toi. J'espère que tu vivras des tas de belles choses
mais souvent, les belles choses tournent mal là dehors

Someone just sent this song to me, but I really don't know what he really meant to send it. Dosen't he know what I feel to him?

It reminds me of my daughter who moved out of my home to go live with her dad at the age of 16. Things didn't work out there so she moved in with her boyfriend. Things didn't work out there so she has been moving from place to place until she gets bored or kicked out. She is a beautiful girl and she is learning that she can't just live on a smile. I thank you for this song:)
