La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la la la la la la la la la-a
La, la, la, la, laaa

Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you wanna start something new
And it's breakin' my heart you're leavin'
Baby, I'm grievin'
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

[Chorus]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile, girl
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl

You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breakin' my heart in two
Because I never wanna see you sad, girl
Don't be a bad girl
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware

Chorus x 2

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la-a
La, la la la la la la la la la-a
La, la, la, la, laaa

But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

Chorus

Sung about a younger than him girl, she was wild hence the word "wild" in the song,he told her don't be a bad girl, because she was a bit of a rebel, he wanted her to stay with him, but she had to go, in his eyes she was childish in her ways not surprising though she was a lot younger than him and although wild, she had not lived the kind of life he had been living, which at that time was probably more wild than the girls..they both had sweet feelings for each other, but sadly it wasn't the right time so she left that's when he realized he had fallen in love with her, but it was too late.

Remind me of me, when i left my parents and hometown to get married to a man 19 years my senior, which resulted in divorce, a lesibian daughter, a cutter and very disrespectful son. Wow, what does that me to me as a mother

My daughter fell in love with a kansas boy and is off to marry him. She's going to be missed in california and i hope she remains the happy girl i raised. The song brings tears to my eyes and sorrow to my heart but has so much meaning.
