(Wake up and...)
(Wake up and...)
(Wake up and...) Wake up and turn I loose,
For the rain is fallin'!
Got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya),
Got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya)
Got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya),
For the rain is fallin'!
We-e-e-e-e-ell, I feel so high, I even touch the sky
Above the fallin' rain!
I feel so good in my neighbourhood, so:
Here I come again!
I've got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya),
Got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya)
I've got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya),
For the rain is fallin'!

Wo-wo-oh! Yea-ea-ea-eah! I feel so high, I even touch the sky
Above the fallin' rain, we-e-ell!
I feel so good in my neighbourhood, so:
Here I come again!
I've got to have kaya now!
I've got to have kaya now!
I've got to have kaya now,
For the rain is fallin'!
Get up and turn I loose;
Wake up and turn I loose;
Wake up and turn I loose,
For the rain is fallin'.
We-e-ell, kaya, man! (kaya, kaya)
Kaya, man! (kaya, kaya)
Got to have kaya now (kaya, kaya),
For the rain is... rain is fallin'!
Wake up and turn I loose;
Wake up and turn I loose.

"kaya means herb. It's a password some of the brethren use in ja. So kaya is really dealing with togetherness and humanity and peace, (because) the thing of peace travel through the earth now. Yes, rastaman vibrations and exodus were 'arder. This time we dealing with something softer.
Kaya- could mean many things. Give the man some credit- the most obvious is weed / ganja, however, i think marley was a bit... A lot "deeper" than that. Home, spiritual presence or force, god.
I don't doubt that kaya means ganja in american slang, but in zulu, which is a south african ethnicity, and makes up a large portion of the country's population, it means 'home'. And in my opinion, that is what it primarily means in the song. Could be a double meaning too.
I was not sure if this would help someone or either be apreciated.. So leave a message here ill check back for a bit, and probably tell more about what i think :)
Look at these simple lyrics.. And what i got out of it
i think the lyrics means:
he feels so high he even touch the sky.. He feels good in other words (you can even get a feel of it in the tone of his voice)
a way of life... He needs kaya so he can touch the sky above the falling rain
falling rain would represent the trouble, stress, problems you get from life in general right? And being above it would mean there's no big deal anymore.. And maybe making him think all those things are just happening and are meant to happen. And would make him feel also peaceful! Peaceful with his mind, with his body, peaceful with people, stuff, life, music.. Everything!
Then he feels so good in his neighborhood that would represent that he feels good where he lives.. He feels good in his body and mind. His neighborhood(life,people around,mind,body ect.. ) are perfect the way it is.. Everything is okay! No problems here
