I heard this girl sing this song on the voice and i absolutely loved her voice and the song! And so i typed out a part of the song and i saw this! Yaay:) this is an amazing songg! Im not too sure what the meaning is yet but theres different meanings to a song for different people.

There is no doubt about: paul wrote this song for john ! John wanted to leave the group, paul always wanted the band - and did not want to loose john. So "if you leave me, i´ll never make it alone, oh darling, i´ll never do you no harm! "
it is word by word the simple fear about a divorce. And i´m sure, paul really broke down and cried, after john repeated to say, that he did not not need him anymore by leaving the group and having found his wife yoko, and paul was definately jealous about it all. Remember what linda said about paul´s hard times at that period, never shaved, didn´t care about how he was looking, spend weeks all alone on his farm at campbeltown/scotland in deep dispair and in depression ...
