Paul & linda had a tiny hidden ranch in tucson. Actually eastern side of the valley in between the santa catalina and rincon mountain ranges near saguaro national park east and surrounded by off-limits forest service & blm land and such. Tucson was cool. Back in the seventies & early eighties linda rondstadt's brother peter was chief of police and a very wise man. Ran the best dept. In the country. Tucson was a beautiful gentle, artist town. Now there are too many people and it sucks so don't move there. At any rate, paul popped-up in his straw hat one time at a road side stand that was selling jewelry & art and surprised all my artist friends. I wasn't there but word went around that paul was in town when he and linda would want to stay at the ranch. The locals gave them their space and the two were kind enough to join your space if you were in the right place at the right time. He felt he could act somewhat like a regular guy there.
