Lies, ties, Mr. Cool disguise
Hang it up, get up on your own
Pill driven skills, weeping whippoorwills
Too much going 'round that you can't hide
CHORUS:
Look out for the blind owl
You can only find that you were wrong
No one else around me ever loved me like you do
So I'll be strong
[guitar solo (Pete Ham)]
CHORUS
Days, plays, interviewer's maze
Play the role, sell your soul
Becoming to yourself
A hero who must never lie
Who must never lie
Who must never lie
Who must never lie
Who must never lie
Who must never lie
[wah-wah guitar solo (Pete Ham)].

The blind owl is wise, and is not fooled by the lying disguise, because it cannot see. To redeem the soul he has sold for fame or fortune, the protagonist must become a hero who does not lie -- it is the only part of himself he can maintain untainted, while playing the role he bought with his soul.

Or, tom evans was having a bad day.
