Cry alone, I've gone away
No more nights, no more pain
I've gone alone, took all my strength
I've made the change,
I wont see you tonight

Sorrow sank deep inside my blood
All the ones around me
I cared for and loved

It's building up inside of me
A place so dark, so cold, I had to set me free
Don't mourn for me,
You're not the one to place the blame
As bottles call my name
I won't see you tonight

Sorrow sank deep inside my blood
All the ones around me
I cared for and most of all I loved
But I can't see myself that way
Please don't forget me, or cry while I'm away

Cry alone, I've gone away
No more nights, no more pain
I've gone alone, took all my strength
But I've made the change,
I wont see you tonight

(So far away, I'm gone
Please don't follow me tonight
And while I'm gone, everything will be alright)

No more breath inside
Essence left my heart tonight [x2]

Its about their former bass player Justin sane (justin meacham I think) suffered from depression, and wrote this suicide note. He tried killing himself with cough syrup, and failed to do so. Part 2 is about why he shouldnt have done it. And what it would of been like without it.

He spent about 3 months in a mental institution. "when he got out is was like he was always on acid"-m shadows. It was to the point where the band just couldn't take it anymore. So Justin had to go.

This song leaves us questioning what it really is about. Everyone has their own explanation/connotation towards this story. These lyrics really do leave us wondering:

Did he kill himself? Is this meant to be a suicide to his lover? To his friends? To his family?

Did he go to war? When he says "please don't forget me, or cry when I'm away", does he mean he'll come back after a while? Was he only supposed to be leaving temporarily? Did he get killed in war at the end?

Did he run away from home? Did he leave his girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband unexpectedly? Is this his way of moving on, and letting them know?

This song really does have a lot to answer for, but for now there is no complete explanation to this song. It's only what we make of it.
I'm very sorry for writing a whole essay on this, there was just a lot to say about it. I hope you have taken my points into consideration.

A very song about a7x's first bassist. And I like how they put a 5min silence on the end of it in memory of him.

In my opinion you should never judge a7x by reading their bio's, because it says stuff about M. Shadows being really violent and worshiping the devil etc. And about the rev getting expelled from 2 schools and constantly getting arrested. If you just read that then you'd think they just a bunch careless dicks. But this song proves that wrong.

This song has honestly saved my life. I went through a huge drinking binge of sailor jerry's and spiced rum in general. Each night I would have a half a bottle or more by myself and I couldn't start my day without it. When I heard this song from a buddy of mine who was worried about me I listened to it over and over. This is gonna sound strange and a little irrational but if it wasn't for waken the fallen. I prolly wouldn't be here now. Thx a7x!
