Yeah, you've been alone
I've been gone for far too long
But with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you

Never let it show
The pain I've grown to know
'Cause with all these things we do
It don't matter when I'm coming home to you

I reach towards the sky I've said my goodbyes
My heart's always with you now
I won't question why so many have died
My prayers have made it through yeah
'Cause with all these things we do
It doesn't matter when I'm coming home to you

Letters keep me warm
Helped me through the storm
But with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you

I reach towards the sky I've said my goodbyes
My heart's always with you now
I won't question why so many have died
My prayers have made it through yeah
'Cause with all these things we do
It don't matter when I'm coming home to you

I've always been true
I've waited so long just to come hold you
I'm making it through
It's been far too long, we've proven our
Love over time's so strong, in all that we do
The stars in the night, they lend me their light
To bring me closer to heaven with you

(Bring me closer)

But with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you

I reach towards the sky I've said my goodbyes
My heart's always with you now
I won't question why so many have died
My prayers have made it through yeah
'Cause with all these things we do
It don't matter when I'm coming home to you

And with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you

Its about the soldiers in Iraq coming home

They said it was just before they played this song on the Iron Maiden tour at Twickenham

K, now I'm not saying that it's not about a soldier in Iraq, but don't base it on youtube for sure...Avenged Sevenfold usually has some very very deep meanings in their songs. It can mean whatever to anyone though, a western, a mislead war...who knows? That's the beauty of their music.

When I said "he is ready to join the people he loves in heaven" I meant more of a "he is ready to accept his fate" type of thing.

I have an older brother who joined the army and is getting deployed to the middle east soon. I just feel that this song is a way of me to... Understand what it'll be like so i just wanna say thanks to all avenged has done to help me and i'm sorry for the loss of their friend and band member-drummer, the rev.

A man fires a rifle for many years
Then he turns the rifle into the armory
He beleives he is done with the rifle
But no matter what he may do
Build a house, fix a car or change his son's diaper
His hands will remember the rifle and what he has done.
