Allstar Weekend – Blame It On September lyrics

I can still see you standing there
Summer tangled in your hair

First week of July
First day of my life
My voice shook when I said hello
And from that word we couldn't take it slow

I still can't believe
The way you looked at me

Now the nights turn colder
Your head's on my shoulder
We do our best to pretend

Waves get louder
I'm lost without her
As summer starts to end

Lets blame it on September
Cuz it hurts to remember

We can fight to hold on
But August is gone
And even if the sun falls
I hope we don't lose it all
Cause no summer lasts forever

Lets blame it on September

We drew hearts there, in the sand
Laughted and waves erased all plans
Though we never knew They told the truth

I can still hear our laughing friends
As we sneak off again and again
No we never cared
Too young to be scared

The nights turn colder
Your head's on my shoulder
As summer starts to end

Lets blame it on September
Cause it hurts to remember

We can fight to hold on
But August is gone
And even if the sun falls
I hope we don't lose it all
Cause no summer lasts forever

Noooooo...

On the beach in the heat
You know I need that sweet ocean air
I'm gonna go where I know we can be alone
Wait for you wait for you
There

Blame it on September

We can try to hold on
But August is gone

Lets blame it on September
Cause it hurts to remember
We can try to hold on
But August is gone

When the sun falls
I hope we don't lose it all
Cause no summer lasts forever

Lets blame it on September
Blame it on September

I can still see you standing there
Summer tangled in your hair

One of allstar weekend's most meaningful and inspirational songs. Zach's amazing songwriting never fails.
This song carries so much meaning. I remember hearing it for the first time. By that, I mean going somewhere quiet, puting in my earphones, and imagining myself in that situation. I remember crying because I could feel the sadness and pain zach was going through. It tells a story. A beautiful, sad, but meaningful story. It was an important time in zach's life.
Yes, it's about a summer love. Zach met a girl and they went right into one of those amazing fairytale relashionships. But soon summer ended and they were going to different schools. They both went on the beach together and the girl broke up with him, saying that they were going to different schools and it wouldn't work out. Zach was broken-hearted.
He chased her for 3 years and then finally got over her. The sequel to blame it on september is teenage hearts, which is written in the point of view of the girl. Again, this song made me cry because of the powerful meaning. This is what music will do to me. They tell a story, and the way zach explains it, just makes is so meaningful.
Now he's in a very sucessful band, touring, traveling, writing, and preforming. He's living the dream, doing the things that he's always wanted.
