Luck loves me not tonight, I'm running out...
This four leaf clover's all but useless now.
I've got four wheels that say I'm not alone tonight,
I'm always looking for a joy ride through the,
Brightest part of this town.

Break out, break out,
As we escape through the window,
Head for the car, and never look back, singing-singing,
"Break out, break out,
Our time has come and we've got these big city dreams."

Put up or shut up, we're not wasting time again,
The credits are rolling and we're getting lost again,
In parking lots, to serenading sirens,
As the blue lights bathed our smiles...
Break out, break out,
As we escape through the window,
Head for the car, and never look back, singing-singing,
"Break out, break out,
Our time has come and we've got these big city dreams."

Lets take a moment to reflect,
On the past few years of my life,
I haven't worked myself away,
To stay inside.
This is the time to let us...

Break out, break out,
As we escape through the window,
Head for the car, and never look back, singing-singing,
"Break out, break out,
Our time has come and we've got these big city dreams."

well personally i think it's about being yourself. 'break out break out as we escape through the windows' to me represents breaking out of a shell. it could mean doing something you've always wanted to try but never had the balls to do it. 'and never look back' that part again also reflects how you can never be sure of how something will turn out to be unless you try it, and it might even turn out amazing; you never know. even if it fails at least you can look back and say 'at least i tried'. the part where it goes on about 'seranading sirens' and 'blue lights bathed out smiles'. clearly that 'thing' you've wanted to do may go wrong, but who cares? you've done it, probably laughed along the way and quite possibly made some friends.
'Lets take a moment to reflect,
On the past few years of my life,
    I haven't worked myself away,
To stay inside.' - to me this again goes back to my point about it being just doing whatever you like. you have only got one life, and you definitely should try all you want to do. don't stay inside that shell, break out. you never know. everyone has 'big city dreams' do what you have to do to pursue them. the future is unwritten, you never know what's coming next.

in short, to me, it's basically a philosophical way of saying yolo.

actually; this song is about my friend. he honest to God wrote it for her. just like he wrote jasey rae FOR jasey rae. she's a person. the girl and jasey are like good friends too.
