Alison Krauss – Baby Mine lyrics
Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
Never to part,
Baby of mine.

Little one when you play,
Don't you mind what they say.
Let those eyes sparkle and shine,
Never a tear,
Baby of mine.

If they knew sweet little you,
They'd end up loving you too.
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for the right to hold you.

From your head down to your toes,
You're not much, goodness knows
.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.

All those same people who scold you,
What they'd give just for the right to hold you
.

From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.
Baby of mine

I'm a 21 year old college student who still cries like a baby when this song plays. My mother and I would lay on the couch together watching dumbo when I was little and would cry together when this song would play. Now that I've grown and moved away, it makes me miss my mother so damn much. It makes me long to be able to go back in time just to be able to relive those precious moments I hold near and dear in my heart. I love you mom!

My mom and dad made a video about how I was when I was born, 1,2,3,4,5,6. When I watched the video the first time I thought it was cool but the second time I cried. I wish I was that age again. People cared about me more that time. Now I'm the last one to get cared for my baby brother is the first.

I was a nanny for 3 years to a sweet young boy. He had a disorder on the autistic spectrum and could not speak or do many things on his. He was my baby. I sang songs to him every night. "crazy" by patsy cline, "somewhere over the rainbow". He tried to sing alone with me. He would have loved this song. He loved the very soft songs. I feel him when I hear this song. Nannying is so hard sometimes, but moving on was tragic. I miss him dearly.

I'm unable to have babies, but I'm one lucky mom to a young beagle/hound mix. We rescued her when she was 3mths old. She is a beautiful, crazy, active, funny, loving, most precious "dog" I've ever known. This song melts my heart when I think of her & how others don't have patience & love for her like we do. Because she's hyper & wild, people don't often get to see the loving angel who cuddles up with us at night or the dedicating love in her big brown eyes. She's so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine!

Use to sing this song to my son when he was little. Makes me cry every time just seeing him growing up. Love him so much he was my miracle child. So I'm making him a quilt with all his old baby clothes, jerseys and t-shirts that mean things and I'm going to put this song here and there. I taught my son to love everyone because everyone might not be the same on the outside but if you look into every ones heart we all are the same. So the meaning of this song to me is my love for my son. I only could watch dumbo once I was crying to much.
